Lotina could end changing big part of the squad for the meeting at the Santiago Bernabéu, modifications that will possible include the presence of Lassad as the central attacker in the formation.

On Wednesday coach Miguel Angel Lotina was talking of making ‘two or three’ changes to the lineup ahead of the visit to Real Madrid, but the true is that he can end up modifying almost the entire squad for the event. And it shouldn’t be a surprise as Deportivo is the Primera team that has used more players after just five matchdays (23).

At defence it seems that Aranzubia will miss a new game after the keeper’s trainer, Jose Sambade, told to La Voz de Galicia that the Basque is training at the top, but that yet isn’t at one hundred percent, therefore Manu will be the starter. Manuel Pablo will continue at the right-back position, but the first change in the squad appears on the left as Lotina will probably allow the return of Claudio Morel.

The forced modification occurs with Diego Colotto, the Argentine was sent off against Almeria and Lotina will probably chose Ze Castro as the partner of Lopo at the centre of the defence. More doubts appear at midfield, because only Ruben Perez seems to be a fixed choice for the coach.

So far Lotina has alternated Juca, Juan Rodriguez and Antonio Tomás for the other position of pivote, but so far nobody has convinced the Basque man and it won’t be surprising if he ends deciding to use a triple pivote figure as the solution for the game, just like he did at Villarreal. To mention that Juan Dominguez is training at the top since Monday, but Sunday’s game might be too soon for his return.

The right wing is a mystery, Depor’s coach found in Urreta the perfect match for Guardado, but since the Uruguayan is injured nobody has clearly claimed the spot; Saul and Desmarets have been tested there, but without positive results, while Pablo Alvarez hasn’t debuted yet on this season.

On Wednesday Lotina was defending the job of Adrian, who has been criticized for his poor job in attack, despite the support it seems that the coach is seriously thinking in playing with Lassad as the central forward, the Tunisian has been performing as a playmaker on this season and the game at the Bernabéu can push him back into his natural position, a move that could open a gap for Valerón.

At Real Madrid the attention is more focused in José Mourinho, the always polemic coach that said before the meeting in Champions League with AJ Auxerre that winger Pedro Leon “isn’t Maradona”, this as the Portuguese was trying to explain why the player was left out of the European match. Part of the media took his words as an insult to the player, while the other part was defending the actions of the ex-Inter man.

On Thursday, the team trained behind closed doors at the Bernabéu, but it wasn’t reported if Mourinho already tested a lineup to face Deportivo. To mention that Argentine winger Angel Di María, who scored the winning goal against Auxerre, suffered a car accident on Wednesday, but he the player is fine and will probably play against Depor. Also, Fernando Gago could be reappearing after a month sidelined as he is totally recovered from his ankle ligament. 30/Sept/2010: 21h12: Deportivo: Tomorrow the team will train at Abegondo (10h30 CET).
