FOLLOWING THE MARKET

20 Apr 2006
The anticipated reunion between Lendoiro and Juan Carlos Ver??n (Belluschi's agent) has finally occurred. They discussed the possible incorporation of the Argentinean winger, but the meeting was also useful since Depor's president received the latest news of the Argentinean market. In this sense, two new names have emerged has possible incorporations: strikers Pavone and C??mpora.

Ver??n's trip to La Coru?a was in order to learn the desires of Lendoiro, a fact that he admitted to the media: "First to be offering players, what I want is to know Depor's necessities." The name of Fernando Belluschi has been linked with Depor since a couple of months ago, and Deportivo's president has had the opportunity to learn the pretensions of Boca Juniors and Newell's Old Boys from the mouth of the player's agent.

But the arrival of the Argentinean winger seems difficult to happen since Depor will have to pay €5 million in the operation, the possible arrival of Pablo Alvarez is also a fact that could block the transfer. Alvarez is also a right winger and would come in a free transfer from Sporting Gij??n.

Even Depor Sport is sceptical about Belluschi's arrival. The paper wrote yesterday that the Argentinean winger isn't a priority for the Galician club, the same source also claimed that Deportivo is interested in other options. These options seems to be the arrival of a new striker. Precisely, the meeting with Ver??n is important in order to know the alternatives that Lendoiro could sign.

Related to the arrival of a striker, newspaper La Opini??n A Coru?a wrote two Argentinean candidates that were offered by Ver??n: Pavone and C??mpora. Hugo Mariano Pavone (23) is currently playing in Estudiantes and has scored 4 goals in 18 matches. His participation has been also important in Copa Libertadores since Estudiantes qualified to the second round thanks to his goals. His name has been also linked with River Plate. His main characteristic is the aerial game.

The other name over the table is Javier C??mpora (26), he was the pichichi in the last torneo apertura with Tiro Federal, and in Argentina everybody speculates that his transfer to another club is a secure thing. Like Pavone, his name has been linked with River Plate and also with the Mexican club Monterrey. He has been described like a fast, skilful and direct striker that is a constant threat to the rivals. No amounts have been released about these two possible operations.
