Deportivo B ends the second round with its poorest presentation on the season, and with a defeat that leaves the team submerged inside the relegation zone.

Tito Ramallo was having the casualties of striker Joshua (shoulder), midfielder Richi (groin) and goalkeeper Diego Rivas (virus), plus central defender David Rochela, who was sat on the bench for the visit of the first team to Athletic Bilbao. At the same time the coach was recovering side defender Diego Seoane and winger Chirri, this last one coming out from an injury.

The lineup was the usual 4-2-3-1, but there were a few surprises as Ramallo left out regular starters like Juan Carlos, Vieytes and Raul Garcia. In the end Felipe Ramos was at the goal, Seoane played at the right-back position, Stopira appeared on the left sector, while the central defenders were Fran González and Pablo Ínsua; Hector and Dani were at midfield, Diego Vela was the right winger, Luis Ángel performed on the left, David Añon was the playmaker and Dioni was the central attacker.

The rival was CD Guadalajara, a team from the region of Castile-La Mancha that’s targeting the promotion playoff to Segunda División. The team coached by Carlos Terrazas was having the casualty of striker Miguel Ángel Carrilero ‘Michel’, who has scored four times on the season, but attackers Iván Moreno and Juan José Serrano ´Juanjo’ were part of the starting lineup, together these two men accumulate nine goals scored on the Segunda B season.

New discrete game of a Deportivo B that did nothing on the pitch against a rival that neither gave a positive impression, and it’s that both teams barely created problems against the opposite goal. Fabril even only had one attempt to score throughout the ninety minutes. The first half was dominated by the visitors, while Depor B was better in the second part, and everything was decided within the final minutes as Guadalajara scored its goal through a penalty that was whistled three minutes before the end.

Perhaps the injury of Héctor distracted Fabril, he fell down to the ground at minute 7 after suffering a hit on the knee. Fortunately it seems the problem wasn’t too serious as it was thought, and was even commented that he might be available for the game against Lugo. Anyhow, the doctors lasted a couple of minutes in taking him off the pitch in a stretcher. His substitute was Juan Carlos and the playmaker performed as a pivote on this half.

Fabril never felt comfortable on the pitch and it was Guadalajara the side that dominated the actions, though without too many clear goal opportunities, just a header of Juanjo during a free-kick that passed close to the crossbar (5’). The only chance for Fabril in this half was s along-distance shot of Luis Ángel that was stopped by visiting keeper Mikel Saizar.

Ramallo reacted for the second part as he sent Diego Vieytes to replace a disappeared Diego Vela; the move left Vieytes at the centre of the defense, which meant to see Fran advancing his position as he joined Dani at midfield; in this way Añon was now playing at the right wing and Juan Carlos was finally performing as the playmaker on the scheme.

Those were the right modifications, because now Fabril was dominating the actions, while Guadalajara was on a more passive mode. However, the match continued to be boring as both teams missed to create clear scoring opportunities.  Seoane was very active on the ground as he was giving a lot of problems with his crosses from the right.

For the final twenty minutes the visitors started to push in attack, and in this way Aníbal Zurdo started to give problems to the locals, at minute 71 he made a great play in which he released a drilling cross from the left, but nobody found the ball inside the area, two minutes later Gerard Badía attempted from long-distance and Felipe Ramos made the save.

Ramallo saw that his team was losing punch, so he allowed the return of Chirri as he replaced Luis Ángel, but the side that scored the goal was Guadalajara as the visitors were rewarded with a doubtful penalty after Ínsua apparently pulled Anibal inside the area. It didn’t look like a penalty, but the referee whistled it and defender Javi Soria scored the lonely goal on the match from the penalty spot. It is his second goal in liga. There was no time for a reaction though Fabril desperately attempted to tie the action during the stoppage time as it released a couple of free-kick into the box, but nothing happened.

New disappointment for a Fabril that didn’t deserve to lose, but that neither deserved to pick up the three points. The Galician team lacked ideas in attack and never represented a threat for Guadalajara, the visitors just needed a penalty at the end of the match in order to secure a result that complicates the things to Depor B, because Fabril ended the first round at group one living inside the relegation zone, though it’s also true that the standings are so tight that the 11th spot is only four points away. Now the team starts the second round as it hosts CD Lugo at Abegondo (Sunday, 17h00 CET), it’s another complicate game as the Galicians neighbors are now the leaders on the group, they haven’t lost within the last eleven games and have a streak of four straight wins.

Comments of Tito Ramallo: “Neither of both teams were able to shot on target, so it should have been a 0-0, and the true is that we are unable to achieve a clean sheet. The rival had intensity and the injury of Hector affected us. They never allowed us to play and we suffer when the team has the ball possession. So, we never developed our potential in attack and the ball spent more time at midfield. I would have loved to end the first round with twenty points. Now we need to make signings, because the team needs it. We have big problems at both sides.”
