For the second time on this liga season Lotina is ready to present the same lineup for two straight matches; Rubén Pérez had a hamstring problem, but will be fit to play on Sunday.

Coach Miguel Ángel Lotina is content with the team that defeated Villarreal on the past weekend and for that reason he is willing to repeat the same 4-3-1-2 lineup for the visit to UD Almeria. On this season the Basque manager has only repeated the same starting squad in two straight liga matches during the visits to UD Levante (matchday 10) and RCD Mallorca (matchday 11).

The repetition of the squad is not only possible for the recent performance of the squad at the Riazor, but also for the absence of fresh injuries, the ghost that has chased the team throughout the season. For the moment only Saul Fernandez (knee) and Andrés Guardado (muscular) are sidelined, the duo is expected to return on next week though.

Aythami Artiles was having a back problem during the week, but he was fine by Thursday and could be the substitute central defender on the bench. On Friday, Lotina emphasized the defensive work and tested the same line that played against Villarreal: Dani Aranzubia at the goal, Manuel Pablo covering the right-back position, Claudio Morel on the left sector, and the duo Diego Colotto-Albert Lopo at the centre.

It is expected that Depor’s coach will keep the diamond figure at midfield, with Ruben Pérez playing more delayed and close to the central defenders, Juan Dominguez performing towards the right wing and Antonio Tomás doing the same on the left, while Juan Rodriguez will be the more advanced midfielder playing behind the attacking couple.

Ruben Pérez was having a hamstring problem during Friday’s session, reason why he didn’t complete the training, but later the Andalusian said to reporters that he was fine, “I won’t have any problem to play and should be available for the coach. I have spent the last three weeks facing some hamstring problems, but it won’t prevent me to play in Almeria.”

He also said that Deportivo’s players want to change the picture after losing three times on the season against Almeria, “It isn’t a matter of revenge, but have an unfinished business as we haven’t defeated them on this year and as they eliminated us from Copa. We will always try to defeat the rival, no matter who it is, the idea is always to win.”

Finally, in attack, Lotina is thinking in keeping the couple Riki-Adrian; The Asturian attacker has scored four times on the liga season and is the current Pichichi at the team, while the Madrilenian has conquered two goals. During Thursday Lotina tested Lassad and Xisco as the alternatives coming out from the bench, so it is expected that both will be picked for the game, while it still uncertain if José Sand will have the chance to debut, or even to be part of the team travelling to Almeria.
