LOTINA RECOVERS MOREL

06 Mar 2011
Claudio Morel is already recovered from his Achilles problem and will be a starter against Real Sociedad; it could be a similar starting eleven compared to the squad that faced Real Madrid on the past weekend.

Good news for Lotina on Saturday’s training session, because Claudio Morel was already recovered from the Achilles problem that left him at bay on the day before. Therefore the Paraguayan left-back will be a starter on Monday’s meeting against Real Sociedad.

Morel has been a starter within the last four matches, precisely since Lotina switched back the system to a 4-2-3-1, and Depor hasn’t lost since then. The availability of Morel is important mainly due to the casualties at the defensive line. Albert Lopo is out suspended, while Manuel Pablo and Diego Seoane are injured.

In the end Lotina could end presenting a very similar formation to the one that faced Real Madrid one week ago; the only expected modification is the entry of Aythami Artiles claiming the spot of suspended Lopo. But there’s a doubt: the central attacker. Pepe Sand has been the starting choice within the last two games, but Lotina could be tempted to play with Riki as the Argentine looked exhausted on Wednesday’s game at Reyno de Navarra.

On Saturday’s training Lotina tested a squad with Aranzubia at the goal, Laure performing at the right-back position, Morel playing on the left, while the central defenders were Aythami and Colotto.

At midfield, Ruben Pérez returns after been rested in midweek and joined Antonio Tomás at the centre of the pitch; allowing Juan Rodriguez to return to the playmaking function; Adrian was on the right wing, Guardado was on the left, and the spot of central striker will be for Riki or Sand.

At Real Sociedad, it has been confirmed that captain Mikel Aranburu (hamstring) and striker Raúl Tamudo (toe) will miss the clash at the Riazor. The casualty of the ex-Espanyol man is leaving coach Lasarte with Imanol Agirretxe as the only available striker at the team, because Joseba Llorente is also out due to a back problem.
