THINKING OF HERCULES

22 Apr 2011
Mixed news at both clubs; Sand and Juca are doubtful at Depor, but Ruben Pérez and Riki are fit to play. At Hércules, Đukić is recovering Trezeguet and Farinos, but Nelson Haedo Valdez is doubtful.

After two weeks without major injury cases, the situation has returned to “normal” mode at Deportivo. Normal because the club has been stroke by all kind of injury cases throughout the season, and on this week coach Miguel Ángel Lotina has saw how three of his players fell down in a matter of two days.

Deportivo started to work on Wednesday ahead of the visit to Hércules CF (Sunday 17h00), and during the first training session Rubén Pérez sustained an adductor injury while Juca suffered a Soleus problem, by Thursday the Andalusian midfield was already working at the same pace than his team mates, but the Brazilian was still out and will probably miss Sunday’s game.

And on Thursday the player that suffered an injury was José Sand, the Argentine striker didn’t end the session after picking an Achilles injury and is also doubtful for Sunday. At least Riki seems totally recovered from his hip problem; doctors were expecting that he would be out for three weeks, but he will probably be available for Sunday after Lotina described the problem as a “weird injury”.

Lotina is also recovering Laure and Juan Rodriguez, duo that’s returning from suspension after missing the last game against Racing Santander. But both of them were out of the tests made by Lotina during Thursday’s training; day when the coach tested the defensive line and the midfield sector for the game.

At defense Morel was performing on the left-back position, with Manuel Pablo on the right side and the duo Colotto-Lopo at the centre. Meanwhile, Antonio Tomás and Rubén Pérez were the two pivotes. No tests were made in attack as instead the strikers were completing a series of physical exercises.

At Hercules CF, the club is facing the game as a final and is trying to fill the José Rico Pérez stadium (30,000 spectators) with a special promotion giving two extra tickets to its socios at the price of thirty Euros. About the team, coach Miroslav Đukić has received good news as he is recovering important people.

Starting with Francisco Farinos, the 33-year-old veteran midfielder missed the last two games due to a muscular problem, but he joined the trainings on Wednesday and actually, he was tested in the starting eleven for the game.

Another good news is David Trezeguet; the French has been dragging a knee problem in recent weeks, reason why he was a substitute in the 1-2 loss against Levante UD, but now he is totally recovered and is appointed to be a starter against Depor. The ex-Juventus main is the Pichichi at the team with eleven goals on the liga campaign. Also French defender Noé Pamarot is fit to play after surpassing a back problem.

The doubt for the game is attacker Nelson Antonio Haedo Valdez, the Paraguayan was replaced during the second half against Levante UD due to a hamstring injury. He still doubtful and on Thursday was training apart. The former Borussia Dortmund striker is the second best scorer at the team with seven goals on the liga tournament.  The trio that is already discarded for the game is ex-Depor winger Cristian Hidalgo (adductor), midfielder Francisco Rufete (knee) and second keeper Unia Alba (shoulder).
