New final for Deportivo in la liga; and Lotina will have to face it with important casualties at the team, especially at midfield. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid recovers three midfielders, including José Antonio Reyes.

On Saturday Deportivo hosts Atletico Madrid at the Riazor (22h00 CET); it is one of the three matches that the team still has to face at home. The Galicians needs five more points in order to clinch the permanence and a victory in this match will mean to complete the half of the road to salvation.

But coach Miguel Ángel Lotina is once again having an important list of casualties; the main problems are at midfield. Antonio Tomás was a last-minute casualty for the past match at Hércules and the most recent scans indicated that he suffered a tear in the quadriceps muscle of his right leg during Saturday’s training session; he will be out for two or three weeks and even could end missing the remaining games on the season.

Meanwhile, Ruben Pérez, the fourth player with more minutes on the liga season (2,386), can’t take part of the game as he is facing his parent club. To make things worse Juca has been dragging a Soleus problem; he isn’t discarded yet, but isn’t totally fit to play; actually he has been trained apart during the whole week, and to remember that the Brazilian has only performed in eight games on this season (215 minutes).

In this way, there are only two natural midfielders for the game: Juan Rodriguez and Juan Dominguez. Lotina already said that he will probably play with both men at the starting formation, though he neither discarded to perform with central defenders Aythami or Ze Castro on that position.

Depor’s coach has also admitted the problems at the right wing, this after Saul and Pablo Álvarez haven’t convinced him, while Javito is now out of the picture as his transfer will never arrive. In recent games Lotina was forced to play with strikers Adrian, Lassad and even with left-footed winger Guardado on the right wing.

Another problem is the recent injury of captain Manuel Pablo; the Canarian right-back defender was replaced before half-time at the Rico Pérez stadium, and the latest scans determined that he sustained a hamstring strain injury, which means that he will be sidelined for two or three weeks. This leaves the coach with only two side defenders at the first team, Claudio Morel and Laureano Sanabria ‘Laure’.

Meanwhile, the club has several promotions for the match Vs. Atletico; it has cut the price of the tickets and is offering tickets at five Euros as a special promotion as part of the Mother's day. So far 4,500 extra tickets have been sold. Thus it is expected to have a similar attendance to what was saw against Racing Santander.

At Atletico Madrid, the situation is the opposite, because coach Quique Sánchez Flores is recovering three midfielders for the meeting at the Riazor: Fran Mérida (ankle), Tiago Mendes and José Antonio Reyes (both suspended).

The return of Reyes means good news for Quique Flores, because the ex-Sevilla man has been one of the best players on this season, scoring five goals and being the second player with more minutes on the liga competition (2,478). Central defender Diego Godín (adductor) is also ready to return as he joined the trainings on Wednesday, but playmaker Jorge Resurrección, 'Koke' (knee sprain) will probably miss the clash as he still sidelined.

Despite the good news, the true is that all the eyes will be upon striker Sergio ´Kun´Aguero, the Argentine is living his best moment in la liga as he has scored eight goals within the last six liga games, while the situation is totally different for Diego Forlán, who has only scored eight in the whole tournament, the Uruguayan already said that he wants to leave the club.

But to mention that on Tuesday, Atletico played a friendly game against Moroccan Raja Club Athletic or Raja, match that was disputed in order to inaugurate the new stadium in Tangier (northern Morocco). And Atletico Madrid won the game with a 3-1 score and with a hat-trick scored by the Uruguayan star, so in the end the striker seems to be motivated before the clash at the Riazor.
