Álex Bergantiños is the only loaned player that has had some luck during the Segunda season that’s about to end; meanwhile Iván Pérez has spent more time injured and Bodipo has only scored one goal.

Once again the major part of Depor’s players that have been loaned are facing problems to shine at their teams; for the season 2010/11 three players of Deportivo were loaned to other clubs: midfielder Alex Bergantiños, winger/playmaker Iván Pérez Maceiras and striker Rodolfo Bodipo. All of them were loaned to Segunda División clubs.

Only one matchdays is remaining at Segunda B and is already possible to extract the conclusions from their performance. Unfortunately the major part of the conclusions are negative. Of this short list only Álex has had a decent performance, and it wasn’t easy for him as he had to switch of club at the middle of the season. The former captain of Deportivo B begun the season at Granada CF, but there he only played six games (4 times as a starter, 294 minutes).

Deportivo didn’t like the situation and sought for another club in the winter window, and it found Gimnastic de Tarragona, club that was fighting to avoid the relegation and place where the Galician player has found a spot at midfield completing 21 appearances since January (19 times as starter 1,773 minutes).

On Saturday, president Augusto César Lendoiro announced that the intention of the club was to recover the player for the Segunda season after spending the last two years loaned at Xérez CD, curiously just after the announcement Álex, who will be 26 on next week, was scoring his first professional goal during the 2-1 win over Albacete, and it was an special goal as it was assuring the permanence of the Catalan club at Segunda,

More discrete was the season for Iván Pérez, the playmaker has suffered several injuries, the last one a hamstring strain problem in February, these problems have limited his participation to just 15 appearances at Liga Adelante (4 games as starter, 1,001 minutes). To make things worse, his team SD Ponferradina is going down to Segunda B after a poor year in which Iván never showed any progress compared to his grey debuting year at Deportivo.

Finally, the case of Bodipo, who was loaned to Elche CF in the attempt to find the goals that never met at Depor, but the Equatoguinean striker has failed in the mission as he has just scored once at Segunda after 22 presentations (11 games as starter, 978 minutes). Still, Elche is already qualified to the promotion playoff, though they represent the worst offensive line among the first ten places at the standings with only 51 goals in favour.

In resume, the loaned players of Deportivo hasn’t shown any special skill that could indicate that they could be decisive factors in the Segunda campaign of Deportivo, though Álex could be a valuable resource to cover the gaps at midfield. In any case, new coach Oltra still has to decide the role of these three men ahead of the new season.
