At this point on the pre-season it is difficult to determine the composition of the team for new year, but it’s possible to mention the players that won’t return to Depor: Lopo, Juan Rodriguez, Manu, Antonio Tomás, Sand, Desmarets and Juca.

Deportivo’s officials still working in the composition of the team ahead of the campaign 2011/12; they have only secured the arrival of coach Jose Luis Oltra, while the major part of the players at the first and even at the second team are still trying to guess what will happen to them.

However, and in the middle of this uncertainty, it is already possible to present a list of seven players that surely won’t wear again the shirt of Deportivo: central defender Albert Lopo, left winger, Yves Desmarets, striker Jose Sand, midfielders Antonio Tomás, Juan Rodriguez and Juliano Antonello ‘Juca’, plus goalkeeper Manuel Fernandez ‘Manu’.

This group of seven men is ending contract on June 30 and it’s pretty clear that they won’t return to La Coruña though they haven’t informed yet about their new destiny. The fact is that Deportivo is already planning the new season without considering their names.

Lopo left an open window to his possible continuity, but with the pass of the days it is clearer that he is searching for a Primera club, and a lot has been writing about his move to Getafe alongside Juan Rodriguez. Meanwhile, Antonio Tomás has been linked with Sporting Gijón and Racing Santander. Sand is in Argentine trying to arrange his return to Lanus. The other players, Juca, Desmarets and Manu, haven’t received any offer yet.

Striker Adrian López should be the eighth man on this list as he seemed on his way to Atletico Madrid, but the case is different as Deportivo is trying to renew his contract using a clause on the deal. Despite this move there is a low probability that the Asturian will stay, and instead it seems like a desperate measure of the club in the attempt to gain some money with his transfer.

There are other two cases that could be included in this list: left-back defender Knut Olav Rindarøy and right winger Javito, but the true is that those are rare cases that deserve a special mention. Norwegian Rindarøy was disenrolled during the winter window, but stayed training at the team as he never found any team where to play, while Javito is returning to Greece without playing any minute in la liga due to his transfer problems.

At this point the only players ending contract with Deportivo at the end of the month and that still have a chance to continue are  striker Francisco Jimenez Tejada ‘Xisco’ and playmaker Miguel Alfonso Javaloyas ‘Michel’. Both played loaned at Deportivo during the season that has just ended, but the club is interested in their continuity.

The agent of Michel, Mario Parri, has told to reporters that Depor is interested in a new loan deal with Valencia and that right now he is waiting for a final decision at his parent club, though it has been rumoured that UD Levante is negotiating with Valencia for his services. In the case of Xisco, Depor Sport included his name on the list of five possible options for the striking zone, though it would be a long case as the negotiations with Newcastle United might be complicated.
