Iván Pérez is the first man back in training ahead the pre-season 2011/12; the midfielder has been injured and returns to Abegondo hoping to gain a spot at the team of José Luis Oltra.

Just one month after the relegation to Segunda División, there are already movements at Abegondo ahead of the season 2011/12. Because the first man back in training is Iván Pérez Maceiras; the midfielder was loaned to SD Ponferradina for the past season. He managed to play 15 games (1,001 minutes), but a series of muscular injuries wiped his presence at the team since January.

Ponferradina ended relegated to Segunda División B, and for all these reasons it turned to be a negative experience for Iván. Supervised by physiotherapist Pablo López, he started to train on Monday in order to regain the pace and to strengthen his muscles ahead of the new campaign.

The true is that new coach José Luis Oltra hasn’t decided what to do with him; he still has to talk to the player and it is highly rumoured that the ex-Fabril will go out loaned, though some sources believe that he could have a chance at Depor’s first team with the exit of Andrés Guardado, who will probably be sold during the summer window.

But Iván is hoping to stay, as he told to reporters, “I am going to work hard, training day and night if it’s necessary, and that’s the only thing I must do: to recover myself and been able to help the team. The first thing is to recover, take advantage of these three weeks in order to be at one hundred percent, so I could feel fine and it will be a motive to stay at the team, also to demonstrate the football that I have in the inside.”

Later he was explaining his experience at Ponferradina, “I was happy, because I was playing in a good position, feeling free as a playmaker. Later they moved me to the wing, until in October I started to have groin problems; then the situation was worse in January; on January 14, I broke up and at that moment the year passed from been pretty to be a tough one.”

Finally, Iván told to reporters that he felt affected with the relegation of Depor to Segunda and Fabril to Tercera, “It is true that I didn’t play with the youth teams of the club, but Fabril marked the way I behave and it opened the door to me to have a chance at the first team. Both cases affected me; I feel sorry for them and each day that passes I feel a bigger love for this club.”
