Lendoiro said on Friday that he was expecting to complete three or four new signings for next week, and it seems that he is ready to fulfill his words, because midfielder Jesús Vázquez is about to join Deportivo.

On Sunday, Depor Sport informed on its main page that midfielder Jesús Vázquez is about to sign a two-year contract with Deportivo. Two days before president Augusto César Lendoiro was admitting that the club was searching for a new centre midfielder and that name of Vázquez was part of the list of candidates.

Diego Rivas, who is ending contract with Real Sociedad, has been also linked with Depor, but Lendoiro said that the intention of the club is to just sign one midfielder, therefore the arrival of Vázquez will probably close the door to Rivas.

Jesús Vázquez is 31 and the true is that it he is an old wish of Deportivo as his name has been linked with the Galician club since the middle of the past decade, but it was never possible to negotiate with Recreativo de Huelva as they never allowed his exit. Now, the player was close to sign an extension of contract with the Andalusian club, but it seems that there’s a clause allowing an exit in case of receiving a superior offer.

According to Depor Sport the Galician club already has an agreement with the player and they are just waiting to see him breaking his link with Recreativo. The official announcement of the signing could be made early on the week. It would be the second signing for Depor after the arrival of left-back Ayoze Diaz.

But Lendoiro said on Friday that he was expecting to announce more signings for the end of the week, and in this sense two more names have been linked with Deportivo: right winger Franck Songo’o (24, Albacete Balompié) and left winger Diogo Salomăo (22, Sporting Clube de Portugal)

Franck Songo’o is the son of Jacques Songo’o, the former goalkeeper of Deportivo that conquered the liga title with the Galician club. The true is that Franck already played at Deportivo; it was with the Juvenil B team. However, he has failed to impress after countless loan opportunities at Portsmouth FC, plus experiences at Real Zaragoza, Real Sociedad and Albacete Balompié.

The source of this rumour is Deporte Campeón (DxT), the Sportpaper wrote that the operation is close to happen as the winger is close to break his link with Albacete, club that was relegated to Segunda B. But it’s hard to imagine this operation to occur, because Depor already have two right wingers at the team: Saul and Pablo Álvarez, and it seems improbable that new coach Oltra is wishing a third player for the position.

More realistic is the possible arrival of Diogo Salomăo, because Depor is trying to sell Andres Guardado and the Portuguese might be a good choice to replace him, at least for the season 2011/12. According to Portuguese paper A Bola, Sporting Clube de Portugal and Deportivo already closed a loan agreement for one season and the operation might be announced early on the week.

The same source claims that Depor tried to include a buyout option in the contract, but that Sporting denied it as they have high hopes with this young promise. Salomăo is considered to be a future promise in Portuguese football, but he lacks experience as he has only played 11 times at the Primeira Liga plus an appearance with Portugal U-21 team. A Bola claims that Depor was close to discard the operation after failing the attempt to get a buyout option, but that in the end they felt tempted to hire the player due to his quality.

Curiously, nothing has been mentioned about the fact that Sporting and Depor could be just making a simple exchange of players, because it must be reminded that the Portuguese side is interested in Guardado, player that performs in the same position of Salomăo.
