The so expected meeting between Lendoiro and the agent of Colotto didn’t happen as the agent was unable to travel to La Coruña. Therefore the uncertainty about the continuity of the Argentine defender at Depor continues.

Diego Colotto is considered to be a key player for the season at Segunda División, but the renewal of his contract is lasting too much, which may start to worry Deportivo. President Lendoiro already said that if the Argentine central defender doesn’t extend his contract with Depor –lasting until June of 2012- then the player will be put in the market, which will also mark the necessity of an additional signing.

The agent of Colotto is Pascual Lezcano; he already said in public that Colotto won’t have any problem to play at Segunda División, but neither is hurrying up the negotiations with the Galician club. Since one month ago it has been commented that he is travelling to La Coruña in order to negotiate, but that trip hasn’t occurred yet.

It was informed that the meeting with Lendoiro was going to take place on Monday’s night, but in the end Lezcano phoned the club in order to say that he was unable to make the trip, so the reunion with Lendoiro has been postponed without fixing an exact date.

The ‘passive’ attitude of Colotto’s agent can be interpreted in two different ways; the first is that he isn’t too worried about the continuity of the player at Depor, and the other is that he is delaying a face-to-face reunion with Lendoiro until having a concrete offer from other club.

In the end the player will travel to Spain in order to start the pre-season with Oltra’s team, but knowing that he might not start the Segunda season with the Galician team. It is one of the pending subjects of Lendoiro ahead of the team’s configuration for the new season.
