ALEJANDRO ALFARO ON TARGET

09 Jul 2011
Oltra wants Alejandro Alfaro for Deportivo, but his low price and well-known quality are attracting a lot of interest; three Primera clubs are also chasing the playmaker/winger.

Alejandro Alfaro Ligero (24, Sevilla CF) seems to be on vogue on recent days; the Andalusian footballer is a versatile player that can perform as a right winger, playmaker and second striker, and due to the long list of players at Sevilla his club is allowing his exit for just €500,000. A bargain in days of crisis.

The curious thing is that nobody has been able to match the expectations of Sevilla; Real Zaragoza is the club that has put more interest, but so far they are only offering €300,000 plus incentives and a friendly game, but the offer was rejected. It is also known that RCD Mallorca and Racing Santander are also interesting in the player.

But in the end these three clubs are currently operating under the bankruptcy law and it isn’t so easy for them to make big signings. And in recent days Depor has joined the list as new coach José Luis Oltra knows the player after been loaned at CD Tenerife a couple of years ago.

In La Coruña it is rumoured that the Valencian coach has requested his signing, and the agent of the player, Emilio de la Riva, confirmed this interest to Riazor.org, “Definitely there is interest coming from Deportivo; I can assure you that. But what we want is to study the offers from Primera, then we can choose others and the factor or Oltra could be very important to take a final decision.”

For the moment it isn’t clear if Deportivo has contacted Sevilla in order to negotiate for the player. It was commented that Alfaro was rushing Sevilla to take a final decision before the weekend as the team was going to make a pre-season stage in Costa Rica staring this weekend, but the stage in Central America was cancelled on Friday due to a lack of payment and now the team will end making the pre-season in Costa Ballena (Cadiz), so the final decision about the future of Alfaro could now take some days.
