The pre-season of Depor’s first team starts with five youngsters from the youth squads; but only two of them have real chances of staying for the regular season.

Goalkeepers Marc Martínez and David Gómez, right-back defender Diego Seoane, left-back Raul García and playmaker Juan Carlos Real are the five players from the youth system of Deportivo that will make the pre-season with the first team. They were picked by Oltra and will be training with the team for at least the first fifteen days.

But the true is that only two of them have real chances of staying for the liga competition; and those two players are Raul Garcia and Juan Carlos. The keepers were called on Monday as there is no second keeper at the first team, so they will return to their teams as soon as Depor signs a new goalie that covers the spot.

Marc Martinez was signed on the past week coming from Racing Santander B and the curious thing is that he will train with the first team before doing it with Depor B –Fabril starts the pre-season on Thursday- while David Gómez will be the youngest player during the pre-season stage; he is 17 and belongs to Juvenil A, though he already trained with the first team during the past campaign after been called by Lotina.

Meanwhile, both Seoane and Raul have already played at Primera División and actually they were also part of the pre-season stage on last season, but only Raul has real chances of staying ahead of the Segunda tournament. The problem for Seoane is that Manuel Pablo and Laure are covering the two spots at the right side of the defense, so it is expected that he will go out loaned to another Segunda club.

Different is the scenario for Raúl, because the only competitor at the left is new signing Ayoze Díaz; Claudio Morel still there, but the club is trying to find an exit for him, so the Fabril’s defender almost has a secure place at the first team. Raul signed a one-year renewal two weeks ago; the deal includes the option to extend the contract for three more years.

Finally, Juan Carlos is one of the main hopes for the new season; last year, despite the relegation of Depor B, the Galician playmaker was the best player at the team and was rewarded with the promotion to the first team, though first he must convince Oltra in order to get a spot alongside Valerón.
