Q&A WITH MARC MARTINEZ

08 Aug 2011
The injuries at the first team have opened the doors to Marc Martinez, the Catalan keeper that arrived during the summer to Fabril. He talked to newspaper La Opinión A Coruña and explained his feelings after having a chance with Oltra’s team

Q: Although you are a player of Fabril, you training with the first team, how do assume it?
A: I feel great, very comfortable and delighted with everything that may come. But I assume that I'm a player of Fabril.

Q: It should be pleasant that, although you are a player of the B team, Jose Luis Oltra is looking at you, isn’t?
A: For me it's a compliment. The coach told me from day one that I should be quiet; that I should train every day and that’s what I'm doing. I work without thinking about tomorrow. I am delighted to be with them, learning a lot, and when the time comes to go down to Fabril, then I will continue to work as I do it now.

Q: Despite the relegation of Deportivo and Fabril, you ended up in A Coruña. What moved you to sign for Los Blanquiazules?
A: A team like Deportivo, despite the relegation, is known as a big club and surely it will be up again. Bot the first as the second team, and good players have come out from here, and Deportivo is a great place to grow, to stay and keep a good level.

Q: What are the feelings after the debut with the first team at As Pontes? A: I found it very comfortable and I'm really proud to have played three games.

Q: What about your relation with the other keepers and Jose Sambade?
A: Before joining Depor I had already heard good things about him and everything is true. You work at the top on here. Because on here you can grow a lot as a keeper and actually, a lot of keepers are coming out in recent years, and it must be for a good reason. Besides, the relation with Dani [Aranzubia] is amazing. He is considered as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe and to realize about the simplicity that he has with us, the kids... Dani is a person that deserves ten points.

Q: Despite being a player of Fabril, is your goal to reach the first team?
A: Yes. The goal of every player is going up and especially when you play in a B squad. And once you're there and things are fine, then the goal as a group and as a player is to keep growing. For me it would be perfect to keep playing with the first team. But we must go day after day, training and always trying to improve, because I think that, every day, you can learn many things.
