For the upcoming clash with AD Alcorcón, Deportivo will travel to Madrid by the road; it’s a trip of 600 km that will be completed without problems thanks to the comforts of the club’s bus.

The next match of Deportivo will mean an unusual trip for the players; the visit to AD Alcorcón (Madrid) is scheduled for this Saturday (18h00 CET) and the club has decided to make the trip on bus. Normally the team travels to Madrid by plane each time it has to pay a visit to a rival from the capital of Spain, and the bus trips are reserved only for shorter trips like Santander, Gijón or Valladolid. The journey to the capital will mean 600 km on the road.

Now the change of strategy is a consequence of the finances at Segunda División, and it’s that the bus trips should help the club to save some money; the team will travel on Friday’s noon and should arrive to the capital early in the afternoon. It is a six-hour trip that shouldn’t affect the performance of the team on Friday.

Because Deportivo’s players will pleasantly travel in the Mercedes-Benz OC500RF bus bought by the club a few years ago and that’s valued in almost €80,000. Deportivo was one of the first clubs in Spain that bought its own bus; it is a luxury bus with all the comforts for the players. So, they will have a pleasant trip that won’t have any effect in their performance in the match.

The bus trips are common at Segunda División as all the clubs normally complete several -and in some cases all- trips through the road. Just to remember that Recreativo de Huelva visited the Riazor on the first matchday of the present season after a long trip of 1,000 km.

It won’t be the last long bus trip of Deportivo on this season, because there will be other away matches in which the strategy will be the same one, like the visits to CD Guadalajara (667 Km), Valladolid (465 Km) or even for the clash at Huesca (905 Km).
