Coach José Luis Oltra could be preparing three changes at the starting team that will face Córdoba on Saturday; Ze Castro, Juan Dominguez and Riki could be starters.

It’s not usual to see coach José Luis Oltra testing the formation for the games during the training sessions; that’s why it called the attention to see him making some experiments during Wednesday’s training session. More specifically he was emphasizing the defensive tasks of the whole team and made some tactical movements with the couple Diego Colotto-Ze Castro performing at the centre of the defense.

During this season Ze Castro was a starter only in one opportunity, it was in the 0-1 loss at home against Hércules CF as Colotto was a last minute casualty on that match. Now the Portuguese man could be replacing Aythami Artiles, who has been a starter in all the eight liga games played so far, but that has been heavily criticized due to his errors, including one that cost a goal in the previous match with Nástic.

Other expected change is the entry of Riki up front; the Madrilenian returned on the past week and scored a goal in the Copa clash with Alcoyano, now he could be making his third appearance as a starter replacing Lassad, another player under fire due to his latest performance, especially after his big miss that could have meant the winning goal against Gimnástic.

The other modification at the starting team could be the entry of Juan Dominguez for Jesús Vázquez, the ex-Recreativo was also criticized due his latest performance. Meanwhile, the ex-Fabril has just completed 38 minutes on this Segunda season and this could be his first appearance as starter.

Oltra has been using almost the same lineup in recent weeks, but now the Valencian man is preparing these three modifications, which could be interpreted as the response of Oltra to the criticism after his Deportivo has only added one of the last six points in dispute. The rest of the starting formation should be the same one of past weeks.

About injuries, Guardado and Colotto were already training at the top during Thursday’s session, so both men will be picked for Saturday’s match. In the end the only players that will remain out due to injury reasons are Manuel Pablo, Bruno Gama, Pablo Álvarez, Xisco and Borja Fernandez.
