Oltra has two confirmed casualties for the meeting, while he has to decide yet if Riki will be picked for the trip. At Valladolid, Djukic has been having problems with the injuries of his strikers, without forgetting the financial crisis at the club.

The main novelty ahead of the clash with Real Valladolid (Sunday, 20h30 CET) is that striker Riki is already training with the rest of the squad; the Madrilenian attacker sustained an adductor injury in the derby with RC Celta and by Tuesday he was already working at the same pace than his team mates. However, it is uncertain if Oltra will pick him for the trip to the José Zorilla stadium, mainly since the player hasn’t received yet the medical okay.

The men that are already discarded for the meeting are left-back defender Claudio Morel (hip) and attacker Xisco (thigh), but central defender Aythami Artiles is returning from suspension and the main doubt for the match is if the Canarian will regain his spot alongside Diego Colotto or if instead Oltra will keep trusting in Ze Castro.

Other doubt at the starting formation is if Bruno Gama will stay at the right wing, the Portuguese made a solid job in the past match with UD Almeria, but Oltra has the option to play with Andrés Guardado on the right side and with Diogo Salomão on the left.

Who will be a starter in the game is Lassad Nouioui, striker that has scored a goal in each one of the last three matches; he talked to reporters on Wednesday and said that “We are facing a rival at the top and it’s a good test to see if we can match the expectations playing away from home; if we look our latest exits we can realize that we have improved compared to our first away games. The goal is to be by Christmas at the direct promotion spots”.

The Tunisian is the top-scorer at the team with six goals in favour, but for him the main thing is to achieve the promotion to Deportivo, “My goal is to help the team and win the matches. I don’t plan to be among the top-scorers, I prefer to achieve the promotion.”

Riki training with Guardado during Tuesday’s training session

At Real Valladolid, coach Miroslav Djukic has been having problems with his strikers; for the past meeting with FC Cartagena three of his four attackers were out injured: Javi Guerra (knee contusion), Dani Aquino (muscular) and Alberto Bueno (knee sprain); other three casualties at the team were defender Juan Jesús Gutiérrez ´Juanito’ (adductor), plus the long-term cases of centre midfielder Carlos Lázaro (knee) and right-back Fernando Varela (vertebrae).

The good news is that Javi Guerra is already training since Tuesday and could be picked for the meeting with Depor. But Alberto Bueno will stay at the sidelines; he is one of the top-scorers at the team with four goals added to his tally. Anyway the presence of Javi Guerra is a boost as he has also scored four goals, without forgetting that he was the Pichichi at the team during last season as he scored the impressive number of 29 goals during the past Segunda campaign.

Angolan striker Mateus Alberto Contreiras ‘Manucho’ is also available and he is living a good moment, because his three goals during the Segunda season came within the last six matches, including two to secure the victory over Villarreal B. Dani Aquino will surely miss the clash with Depor as he is working in his recovery process, while Juanito remains doubtful; on Tuesday he joined the training sessions, but on Wednesday he was working apart.

But the biggest problems for Valladolid are coming from the outside, because the deep financial problems at the club are pushing the entity to the extinction. The club owes 38 million Euros, the office employees haven’t been paid within the last two months and it’s commented that some might be fired in the coming days, neither the players have been paid; some of them are dragging unpaid wages from the past season. The players had a meeting with president Carlos Suárez during Wednesday and the most probable scenario is that the delay will continue. It seems they won’t present demands before the Players Association, but some of them already announced that they will reconsider this last move if the club decides to make signings during the winter window.
