SEVERAL QUESTIONS FOR SUNDAY

03 Dec 2011
Oltra almost has his full team available for the match with Valladolid; therefore there are a few doubts on the possible formation that will play at the José Zorilla stadium.

Only Claudio Morel (hip) and Xisco (thigh) are discarded for the meeting with Real Valladolid, coach José Luis Oltra still has to decide if Riki (adductor) will be picked for the clash. The Madrilenian attacker suffered a new muscular injury two weeks ago and the Valencian trainer will decide today if he should be considered or if instead will wait for next week’s match with CD Numancia.

There are a few doubts on the possible formation for the match, starting at defense. Aythami Artiles is returning from suspension and, despite the fight on the past Friday, the coach seems happy with the performance made by Ze Castro against Almeria, On Thursday, Oltra was testing with the Portuguese performing alongside Colotto at the centre of the defense, while Manuel Pablo and Laure were constantly switching roles at the sides.

But it must be remembered that Oltra leaves these kinds of tracks that eventually aren’t materialized, just to remember that on the past week he was testing with David Rochela as the replacement of Aythami during a previous training session to the meeting with Almeria, and in the end the Galician youngster wasn’t even picked for the clash.

So, there’s also the possibility that Oltra will keep playing with the usual defensive line of previous matches, with Laure at the right-back position, Canarian Ayoze Díaz on the left and Aythami joining Colotto at the centre of the defense, always with Dani Aranzubia defending the goal.

Another doubt comes at the centre of the pitch, Juan Dominguez has made an extraordinary progression within the three matches in which he was a starter, but the comments remain about the possible return of Jesús Vázquez, and it’s even rumoured that Álex Bergantiños might be the one benched. Álex is one of the five players at the team that have been involved in all the fifteen matches on this season.

More questions appear at the wings, Bruno Gama is showing his great skills, which has relegated his compatriot Diogo Salomão to the bench; now Oltra still has to decide who should be the right choice to play against Real Valladolid, which represents one of the best defensive lines in the league. Gama offers s more horizontal game, while Salomão is perfect for the counterattack.

A fact is that the three players that seem to have a fixed spot at the starting team are Mexican winger Andrés Guardado, Canarian playmaker Juan Carlos Valerón and Tunisian striker Lassad Nouioui.
