Deportivo B lost a great opportunity to assault the first place; in the end it was a poor presentation of Ramallo’s boys; the defeat leaves the team outside the promotion zone at the end of the first round.

As always Tito Ramallo was having several casualties at his team, this time Julien, Richi, David Garcia, Edu, Vieytes and Álvaro Lemos were out injured, at least left winger Víctor Díaz was returning, though he started the match on the bench. The point is that the injury of second keeper Edu forced Ramallo to pick David Gómez for the first time, the keeper of Juvenil A have trained with the first team in the past.

The scheme was the classical 4-2-3-1, Marc Martinez was at the goal, Gallego covered the right-back position, Ángel was playing at the left side, while the central defenders were Stefan Deak and Pablo ÍnsuaCrespo and Uxío were the pivotes, Diego Vela was performing at the right wing, Iago Beceiro was on the left, the playmaker in the formation was Juan Carlos, and the central attacker was Luis Fernandez.

The rival was CD Ourense, a team that on the week before it reached the top of the standings, but that was living a crisis, because coach Patxi Salinas left the club in the middle of the week after a fight with the club’s officials. New coach Antonio Dacosta was also having problems as striker Eder, midfielder Jaime Noguerol and defender Portela were out injured, while defender Adrián Padrón was suspended.  Former Fabril winger José Arenas was returning from a long-term injury and entered at half-time.

Terrible presentation of a Depor B that missed of everything, from depth and ideas in attack to solidity at defense; and it’s that Ramallo’s boys only competed for the first twenty minutes, in the rest of the game they barely connected three straight passes and spent the time releasing long throws that never found a receiver.

It was an equal start, with both sides fighting for the ball possession; the visitors had the first opportunity as Luis was one-one-one with local keeper Patricio ‘Pato’ Guillén, but he cleared the danger (8’). And four minutes later Fabril was going to commit its first big mistake in the game, error that cost the first goal.

Uxio was trying to pass the ball at the defensive sector, but instead he assisted Adrián Quintairos, who later eluded Stefan Deak to score his fourth goal on the season chipping the ball over Marc Martinez.

But Deportivo B only needed one minute to equalize the things; the goal came after a marvelous pass of Pedro Crespo that allowed Diego Vela to enter into the area by the right flank and drill the ball to the far post of Pato. It’s his sixth goal on the season.

After the goal Fabril lived its best moment as it had the ball possession, but it never translated this dominance into scoring opportunities. Ourense started to react at the middle of the half, which led them to take the lead for the second time, and again after Fabril committed a mistake at defense.

Adrián Quintairos was fouled at the at the left wing and Adrián Mouriño threw the free-kick sending the ball to the far post, the point is that the whole defensive line and goalie Marc Martinez were unable to cleat the danger, and Álex Fernandez just had to head the ball into the net. However, it was an expensive goal for Ourense as they lost Quintairos for injury reasons.

But the side that went down in the second part was Fabril, the visitors had big problems to display an offensive game and were reduced to long throws that never hammered Ourense, Ramallo moved the bench and sent Cubillas, Victor Diaz and José Manuel to the pitch, but nothing changed and the only opportunity to score for the visitors was a shot of Adriá Gallego that was stopped by Pato (67’).

Meanwhile, Ourense had several chances to define the game, but missed the presence of Quintairos and it was until the last minute that the locals sentenced the meeting; it was a counterattack in which side defender  José María Gómez ‘Josu’ entered into the area to beat Ángel scoring the goal with a crossed and drilling shot.

Disappointing match of a Depor B that had a great chance to reach the top of the standings and that ends the first round in the competition living outside the promotion zone. The team had a promising start, but the defensive errors weighed down the aspirations of the visitors. Fabril is now on vacations and returns into competition on January 8 visiting SD Negreira.

Comments of Tito Ramallo: ”It was pretty clear that we weren’t going to succeed if we were relying on long throws, in other opportunities you can have more precision, but well there’s nothing more to say. I believe that today’s result is fair. In the second part we knew Ourense was going to wait us to define the game in a counterattack. We couldn’t equalize and the game ended 3-1; in any case we’re ending the year occupying a good position.”
