Oltra is only having the casualties of Manuel Pablo and Bodipo for the clash with Villarreal B; the rival for Saturday is facing the clash without any absentee, though it depends of the plans at the first team.

Deportivo faces the last matchday of the first round with the pace of mind of been the leader of the Segunda tournament, and with the confidence of not having too many casualties caused by the injuries; for the clash against Villarreal B (Riazor, Saturday, 16h00 CET) Oltra is only having the casualty of Manuel Pablo.

The Canarian right-back defender is out since the Copa clash with Levante UD due to a stress fracture; it was expected that he could be training with the group since the past week, but he has delayed his return and for the moment continues working apart, so the captain of Deportivo is already discarded for the meeting.

Claudio Morel joined the normal trainings on Wednesday and is available for the coach, but he will probably stay out as the Paraguayan isn’t part of the plans of Oltra, besides Ayoze Diaz is returning from suspension and will probably return to the left-back position. The second and last casualty for the match is Rodolfo Bodipo, who still preparing the African Cup with Equatorial Guinea.

The leadership in the league has brought confidence among the players, but it could be a double-edged sword, as Borja Fernandez was warning after Wednesday’s training, ”Before starting the league it was said that we had to achieve the promotion yes or yes, and we saw that it isn’t so easy. Now we are fine, but it has been tough. If we now think that we are going to win just for been at the first place, then they will come to put us at our place.”

“We are first now, but who knows what could happen in the second round; it could be more demanding and anything could happen. At this point, just before ending the first round, we are first and for now we are better than the rest, but I don’t know what could happen from here to the end of the league.”

At Villarreal B, new coach Julio Velázquez depends on the plans of the first team as, on Monday, Villarreal hosts Sporting Gijón playing for survival in la liga, but the young coach hopes to have a full squad available for the meeting at the Riazor. Velázquez hopes to recover keeper Diego Mariño and striker Joselu. Both missed the last game of Villarreal B as they were picked by the first team for the meeting with Atletico Madrid.

Galician Mariño was covering the last-minute casualty of César Sánchez, who was carrying a muscular injury, while Joselu was replacing Marco Ruben, who was suspended. Joselu is an important player for Villarreal B as he has scored 10 of the 27 goals in the competition (37% of the total).

Right-back Pere Martinez is also returning after missing the game with FC Cartagena due to illness, captain Marcos Guillon returns from suspension and should be one of the starting centre midfielders at the Riazor.
