Ahead of the clash with FC Cartagena, Oltra plans to repeat the starting formation that defeated Villarreal B, with the exception of Riki replacing injured Lassad. Also, Ze Castro will pass a late test on Saturday.

No surprises are expected for this Sunday’s match before FC Cartagena; despite Deportivo didn’t complete a good presentation before Villarreal B, the true is that coach José Luis Oltra is giving continuity to the same squad of recent weeks as he has barely made changes to the team after clinching five straight victories.

Actually, since December, the Valencian trainer has presented the same lineup in five of the last six matches; the only exception was the visit to SD Huesca, in that game Diego Seoane was replacing suspended Ayoze, while Borja Fernandez was on the pitch instead of Juan Carlos Valerón.

Now Oltra is forced to make a new substitution, this since Lassad is injured and will be sidelined for almost a month. His place at the centre of the attack will be taken by Riki, who will be a starter in liga for the first time in two and a half months –his last game as a starter was in the 2-1 win over RC Celta- In any case Riki was practically a starter against Villarreal B as he entered into the pitch at minute 9.

An additional change might occur, on Thursday Ze Castro sustained a knee contusion, on Friday he was working apart, but Oltra told to reporters that he should be fit to play for Sunday’s game. In any case the Portuguese central defender will pass a late test on Saturday; if he’s unavailable then will be replaced by Aythami Artiles.

Daniel Aranzubia will be defending the goal; Laureano Sanabria ‘Laure’ will continue on the right-back position, Ayoze Diaz should be covering the left side. Portuguese Ze Castro or Canarian Aythami will join Argentine Diego Colotto at the centre of the defense.

Álex Bergantiños and Juan Dominguez will keep performing at midfield; it’s the combination used by Oltra in eight of the last nine liga meetings. Juan Carlos Valerón will keep assuming the playmaker’s role.

Finally, Andrés Guardado and Bruno Gama will cover the wings; the Mexican is the Pichichi at the team with eight goals scored so far, five of them scored at the Riazor, while the Portuguese player still searching for his first goal.

More doubts are related to the rest of the list of picked players; last week Oltra didn’t pick any central defender in order to be on the bench, now he will probably call Aythami or Rochela if Ze Castro is unavailable, while wingers Saul Fernandez and Pablo Álvarez are disputing the spot left by Lassad.
