The recovery of the injured players is raising the competition at Deportivo’s squad; at least five of the starting positions for Sunday are in doubt as Oltra has several alternatives for the job. Big competition ahead of an important clash.

Sunday’s meeting before Hércules CF is an important clash against a direct rival for the promotion, and the good news for Deportivo is that Oltra has plenty of alternatives in order to plan the match. Frist to all the suspension of Laure is an important setback, but the return of Manuel Pablo is giving a new choice to the coach, though everyone expects to see Diego Seoane as a starter at the Rico Pérez stadium.

Perhaps the biggest competition at the starting squad is located at the left side of the defense; Ayoze Diaz has been the undisputed starter so far, but his suspension last week opened the door to Claudio Morel, who made a great job before RC Recreativo and now there are big doubts on who will be the starter in Alicante.

The third doubt is located at the centre of the defense, the last injury of Ze Castro gave a new chance to Aythami Artiles, and the Canarian also seized the chance as his acceptable performance alongside Colotto helped to clinch a new clean sheet, but the fact that the Portuguese and Colotto have an impressive mark of only three goals allowed in 692 minutes on the pitch might be a decisive factor.

Then, the surprising return of Bruno Gama, who should have been off until March, is giving fresh options to Oltra. The coach must decide the strategy that he will use against Hércules, one is to continue playing with Guardado on the right wing and Diogo Salomão on the left, while the other is to switch the Mexican to his natural position allowing the return of Bruno to the right.

Finally, Lassad Nouioui is also back into contention and means an important boost as everyone was fearing that Riki was the only alternative for the striking zone, this after the doctors confirmed that the injuries of Xisco andBodipo will keep them out for a while. Still, it’s expected that the Madrilenian will be the starter, while the Tunisian should be the alternative on the bench.

Again the doubt for the playmaking function is if Oltra will keep Valerón on the job, or if instead he will put a more ‘combative’ team as he did for the visit to SD Huesca.  This means to play with Borja Fernandez joining Álex Bergantiños at midfield and advancing the position of Juan Dominguez. Finally Dani Aranzubia will continue to be the undisputed starter at the goal.
