Oltra has the doubts of Riki and Ayoze for the game before Alcoyano; the Valencian coach has other six confirmed casualties, so he could end up with only 17 players available for the meeting, which means the possibility to pick someone from Fabril.

In recent months coach José Luis Oltra has had plenty of choices in order to prepare the liga matches, usually for every game at least three players had been discarded due to tactical reasons, but for Saturday’s meeting before CD Alcoyano (Riazor, 16h00 CET) things will be more limited, actually the Valencian trainer might be forced to pick someone from Deportivo B in order to fill the gaps.

First to all, Riki is clearly not ready to play; the Madrilenian was replaced during the past match before CD Guadalajara; the scans only detected a muscular contracture on his right thigh, the striker completed Tuesday’s training session and even told to reporters that he was fit to play, but on Wednesday he had to leave the training after feeling a muscular problem on the same region

The doctors will wait for his evolution on Thursday and Friday, which means that Riki is doubtful and Oltra could even choose to rest him before suffering a more serious injury. The ex-Getafe man is the most in-form striker at Deportivo as he is the current Pichichi scoring five goals within the last nine matchdays.

Ayoze Díaz is also doubtful; the Canarian left-back defender is dragging a grade I muscle injury on his left thigh from last Friday’s training; it was expected that he was going to be recovered throughout the week, but the point is that by Wednesday he was still working apart from the group, so it seems improbable to have him fit for Saturday.

The problems continue for Oltra with the suspensions of central defender Ze Castro and left winger Diogo Salomão. The defender was sent off in the past match with Guadalajara, while the winger picked his fifth yellow card of the season in the same game. The suspension of Ze Castro is pulling Aythami Artiles into the starting formation.

Then, there are other four injured players, all of them already discarded for the match at the Riazor; starting with centre midfielder Jesús Vázquez, who broke his fibula during Tuesday’s training session and is out for the rest of the season. He was operated in the same day and will shortly begin with his recovery process.

Meanwhile, right winger Pablo Álvarez is another player dragging an injury from the past Friday’s training session. The Shark has been ruled out of Saturday’s match due to a lumbar facet syndrome injury (low back pain).

The other two players discarded for injury reasons are right-back Manuel Pablo and striker Rodolfo Bodipo. On Tuesday the Equatoguinean attacker completed part of the training session with his team mates, but is too soon for him, while the Canarian defender still recovering from his Soleus injury.

If both Riki and Ayoze aren’t ready by Friday, then for the first time on the season Oltra won’t have enough resources to fill up the 18 gaps for the game, which means that he will have to pick someone from Depor B, the main candidate is playmaker Juan Carlos Real

The rival is relegation-troubled CD Alcoyano, the team coached by David Porras is living outside the pit due to its meritorious comeback before FC Cartagena (from 0-2 to a 2-2 within the last 30 minutes). Still, the war is not over yet and the Valencians urgently need to add points in order to certify the permanence.

For the match at the Riazor, Porras is having the casualties of central defender Fernando Martin (Soleus muscle injury) and centre midfielder César Remón (muscular), while centre midfielder Diego Jiménez (knee) is doubtful for the game. At least the coach is recovering keeper Fernando Maestro and central defender Jorge Morcillo, duo that’s returning from suspension.
