Q&A WITH LAURE

21 Mar 2012
Right-back defender Laureano Sanabria ‘Laure’ gave an interview to newspaper La Opinión A Coruña; he talked of the current situation of the team; for him the key to face the rest of the season is to avoid the relaxation.

Q: Have you scared away the agony of your previous victories with this triumph over Alcoyano?
A: In the first half we were pretty fine; we took the lead and then scored the second. Later, maybe, we lacked a little more of continuity, but we kept the result and we scored another goal, which is the most important thing.

Q: Did you feel pointed out at defense for that alleged relaxation that allows the rival to approach on the scoresheet?
A: Maybe it was the responsibility of the whole team. There was never relaxation, but many times you play to win and the other team, when is in disadvantage, it has nothing to lose and starts to push upfront. We have always had some mismatches, but I think it’s attributable to the whole team and the basic thing is to be alert.

Q: Is part of the risks assumed by your football approach?
A: If you see the games and pay attention, you will see that the side defenders always put pressure in attack, the wingers too, the central defender chase the rival’s striker even to the centre of the field ... yes we assume certain risks, but it also have benefits, mainly because we move closer to the opposite goal.

Q: Is the proposal so clear in your minds as to not notice the absentees, as it happened on Saturday at defense?
A: That’s very good. Team mates are entering into the plans every time there are injuries and suspensions, and the team isn’t suffering. Whoever enters is doing very well and it also helps the fact that everyone is alert and available for the coach.

Q: Does it help individually the philosophy implanted since the arrival of Oltra?
A: I feel much identified with the style of playing of the team. I also feel very comfortable because I think we have qualities to do so. I think we are demonstrating it.

Q: And it seems that the fans are recognizing it ...
A: I feel that it’s recognized the work and love of people. It gives you confidence and makes you want to continue working to improve.

Q: Is it enough to win the home games to secure the return to Primera División?
A: The important thing is to not have relaxation. We know that the season is very long and we aim to keep the streak of victories achieved so far. Among the fans and the general public you may think you are almost done, but among us there is the slightest doubt that we have to fight until the end, because the tournament is very long and if you relax then anyone can beat you.
