For the third time in four weeks Oltra is forced to make a modification at the centre of the defense; Aythami has been seizing these opportunities, and now the novelties will include a change at the left side as Morel is suspended.

Oltra should be happy with the performance of the defense within the last months, after all Deportivo is the third best defense among the top three divisions in Spain during 2012, but it doesn’t mean that everything has been easy for the Valencian coach, and it’s that lately he has been forced to make changes at the centre of the defense.

Since the home meeting before UD Almeria (matchday 15) things have been pretty clear for Oltra, he has opted to play with Ze Castro and Diego Colotto at those positions, leaving Aythami Artiles as the alternative on the bench, and the switch brought more secureness as Depor passed to be a fragile team at the back to be one of the best defenses in the league.

But within the last month there have been some problems; Ze Castro was sent off during the visit to CD Guadalajara (2-1), and in the following game Aythami was playing alongside Colotto before CD Alcoyano (3-0), in that game the Argentine picked his fifth yellow card of the season and then the Canarian was again a starter, this time joining Ze Castro facing CD Córdoba (2-0).

He scored a goal and gave an assist, and in the last game, visiting Girona FC, Oltra was able to recover his starting couple, curiously Depor lost the match and also lost Colotto, who was sent off in the play that cost the defeat. So, for the third time in one month, Aythami returns in order to cover an absentee at the centre of the defense, this time Ayoze Díaz is joining him in the returning trip as Morel is also suspended with five yellow cards, so it can be said that Oltra has to change the half of the defense for the home meeting before Real Murcia.

Aythami talked to newspaper La Opinión A Coruña about his entries as a “emergency backup” during the second round in liga, “What you want is to play, and above all to see the team winning. The reward for me would be the victory, and if I play the better. The important thing is the victory, especially as we are coming after a defeat.”

About the match before Murcia, the Canarian defender said that, “We weren’t fine when we played there, but at least they didn’t score against us [0-0 in the first round]. We are strong at the Riazor and are eager to add another victory before our people. It would be the best way to heal the defeat at Girona. We can’t think otherwise, the best in football is that it gives you revenge every weekend.”
