ARANZUBIA OUT FOR SUNDAY

05 May 2012
Keeper Daniel Aranzubia has been ruled out of Sunday’s match as he failed to pass a late test after picking an injury on the past weekend, so Lux will be the starter. It’s one of the three novelties in the lineup to face Real Valladolid.

It was confirmed on Friday: Dani Aranzubia won’t play on Sunday against Real Valladolid; the goalkeeper failed to pass the test on his injured Achilles tendon. It’s the first time in one year and a half that the Riojano goalie misses a match in liga; the last time he wasn’t a starter with Depor was in the 1-6 loss at Real Madrid (Oct 3, 2010).

It means that German Lux will make his first appearance as a starter in liga; the Argentine keeper was the starting goalie in the four Copa meetings on the season, but he’s the last player at the squad that debuts in liga during this season.  Oltra told to reporters that he will wait until Saturday’s training in order to take a final decision, but Aranzubia will hardly be fit to play.

The casualty of Aranzubia causes a cascade effect as probably Oltra will pick Marc Martinez from Fabril in order to fill the gap on the bench, and he won’t play with Deportivo B as their match is played two hours before at Cultural Areas, so Edu and David Gomez will be the goalkeepers for Fabril, this last one is the goalie of Juvenil A, team that’s already on vacations.

The presence of Lux won’t be the lonely novelty for the game against Real Valladolid, actually Oltra has seven casualties for the clash, which is reducing his available squad to eighteen players plus Marc Martinez, still the coach will probably keep playing with a 4-2.3-1 figure.

Lux will be the starting goalie; Laureano Sanabria ‘Laure´ will keep playing at the right-back position, Claudio Morel defends the left sector; the second novelty at the formation is the presence of David Rochela, who is joining Ze Castro at the centre of the defense; the Portuguese is returning from an injury.

Midfield will continue to be the territory for Álex Bergantiños and Juan Dominguez; the third novelty is the presence of Saul Fernandez on the right wing, Andrés Guardado returns in order to perform at the left, Valerón should stay as the playmaker in the formation, while Lassad will be the central attacker.
