BEST SIGNING OF THE SEASON: BRUNO GAMA

07 Jun 2012
Right winger Bruno Gama is the RCDLC.com best signing of the season 2011/12; he spent injured the first third part of the liga campaign, only to explode in the second round scoring goals and giving assists in almost all the matches.

Portuguese Bruno Gama has been chosen as the best signing of the season 2011/12; the right winger left a positive impression since the first day of the pre-season, but a groin injury during the Teresa Herrera against Sevilla CF left him in the sidelines during the first third part of the liga season. He debuted for the visit to Real Murcia playing as a substitute for five minutes (matchday 12).

Little by little he started to gain weight at the team and ended as the most in-form player during the second round, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists. The Portuguese man proved to be the best counterpart for Guardado, because both are talented players that either can penetrate by the sides or combine by the centre.

He seemed anxious at the beginning, but this feeling vanished quickly after scoring his first goal at Deportivo during the visit to Hércules CF (matchday 24), since that day he scored six more goals in seventeen matches, plus providing eight assists. In the end he turned to be the most decisive player in the second round.

The fight for the award of best signing on the season was hard, Diogo Salomão commanded the race for the major part of the season, this thanks to his performance at the beginning, but started to lose presence at the starting team as Gama was gaining weight. Still, if both Portuguese men stay ahead of next season, then they will be partners instead of been competing for a spot.
