THE PLAYERS OUT OF CONTRACT

05 Jul 2012
Xisco won’t return to Deportivo, Borja is waiting for news as he begins the pre-season with Getafe. Meanwhile, there isn’t fresh news on Lassad, but the club doesn’t rule out his return to the club.

Toni Jiménez, brother and agent of Xisco, confirmed to Sportpaper Deporte Campeón that Deportivo isn’t interested in the return of the Majorcan striker for the new season. Toni Jiménez is currently negotiating the cancelation of the attacker’s contract with Newcastle United –lasting until 2013-

There was the possibility of signing Xisco for free if he cancels his contract with the Premiership club, but Toni Jiménez already confirmed that it won’t happen as Deportivo isn’t interested in his brother. Xisco spent the last year and a half loaned at Depor; he didn’t play too often due to the injuries, but scored three vital goals t Segunda, including the goals against Nástic and SD Huesca, this last one was the goal that certified the promotion.

Centre midfielder Borja Fernandez also seems far from Deportivo; the Galician player belongs to Getafe CF and yesterday he started the pre-season with his parent club. Last night his agent, Teo Lázaro, was having  a meeting with the club, apparently they were discussing the possibility of a new loan spell –besides the extension of contract for Diego Seoane- but it seems that nothing was agreed after the reunion.

Borja himself already told to reporters that he would love to stay, ”Nothing has been said from A Coruña, for now I am focused in Getafe. What I know is that I am starting to train with them. I am joining Getafe, but my hope is to be at other place.” He said. Borja has one more year of contract at Getafe.

Meanwhile, there are no fresh news on Lassad Nouioui; the Tunisian striker didn’t respond to the renewal offer made by Depor and the player was hoping to find other offers from Spain, but so far the only propositions are coming from France and one from Saudi Premier League outfit Ittihad Football Club

Last week Depor Sport informed that Lassad is going to wait a couple of weeks before officially accept or refuse the last renewal offer coming from the Galician club. The source speculates that he’s waiting for an offer coming from a Primera team, and that in case of not receiving any proposition then he could move back to Depor. In this sense the club is not ruling out the possibility of his comeback, though Lendoiro is already trying to sign a replacement.
