Oltra launched the season 2012/13 with two sessions for his players; first the squad underwent the medical tests and in the afternoon they completed the first physical session. Meanwhile, Lendoiro announced that a signing will be made on this week.

Deportivo is already preparing the season 2012/13; twenty-six players were called for the first day of work, during the morning the players underwent the medical tests as they were divided in five groups, and the first training session took place in the afternoon.

After the medical tests Valerón addressed the media and explained the goal of Deportivo for the new season, ”Last year there was a great responsibility on our shoulders and it was a great challenge. This year the weight isn’t the same, but I’m ready to carry on with it. The goal is to see people enjoying, visiting the Riazor and watching the team playing good football. The goal is to try to stay at Primera and we´re going to do everything in order to fulfill it.”

Then, in the afternoon, the players trained at Abegondo for an hour. There were around 300 fans there watching the players during their first session of the season. It was a physical session combined with some tactical movements with the ball, which is the landmark of Oltra for the first training sessions.

Oltra directed the first training session only having nineteen players from the first team, Bodipo skipped the training as his second child was born on this week. He will join the work on Thursday. The Valencian coach complemented the squad with other seven players; five of them performed for Fabril on the past season (Marc Martinez, Uxio, Vela, Victor Diaz and Álvaro Lemos). Another was one of the signings for Depor B (Marcos Caridad), and the other the keeper of Juvenil A (David Gómez).

Goalkeepers: Aranzubia, Lux, David Gomez & Marc Martinez
Defenders: Manuel Pablo, Laure, Seoane, Ze Castro, Aythami, Rochela, Ayoze, Marcos Caridad and Uxio
Midfielders: Juan Domínguez, Álex Bergantiños, Jesús Vázquez, André Santos, Saúl, Bruno Gama, Salomão, Valerón, Juan Carlos, Vela and Victor Diaz
Strikers: Riki and Álvaro Lemos

Deportivo still looking for at least three more signings in order to complete the squad; President Lendoiro was in Madrid for the draw of the calendar and he announced that one of this new arrivals will be secured on this week.

“I believe the team started the pre-season with only new arrival, the true is that there are three, though two of them were already there and were ending contract. We will keep working and there will be one signing on this season. We aren’t going to give names, neither for good nor bad, but simple are going to close one more arrival.” He said to reporters.
