No complications for Deportivo during its first friendly game on the pre-season; the Galicians scored five goals, while new signings André Santos and Pizzi left a positive impression. Fabril’s trio Victor, Uxio and Marcos Caridad debuted with the team.

Oltra kept the ‘traditional ‘4-2-3-1 figure from the past season; two of the three new signings were debuting, Pizzi and André Santos. Fabril’s new signing Marcos Caridad was also debuting with the first team.

Marc Martinez was the starting goalkeeper, Laure performed at the right-back position, Ayoze Diaz performed at the left, while the central defenders were Aythami and Marcos Caridad. Midfield was territory for André Santos and Jesús Vázquez. Saul attacked from the right wing, Pizzi did it from the left, Juan Carlos was the playmaker and Bodipo was the central attacker.

The true is that the game didn’t mean any complication for Deportivo; in front it was a side from the Regional Preferente league that just started its pre-season on the past week. The first ten minutes were calmed; the locals were having the ball possession while Depor was pretty passive, but Oltra’s side was going to claim the control of the actions with the passage of the minutes. The visitors had the first scoring opportunity in the game after Ayoze released a cross that was cleared by the defense (7’), four minutes later Pizzi picked a throw-in from Laure, but the Portuguese winger missed the target.

And the first big chance for Depor came at minute 15, Juan Carlos led a counterattack and drilled a perfect pass that left Bodipo alone against keeper Trullo, but the African striker sent the ball out. Three minutes later Bodipo hit the crossbar after heading on target a cross of Saul coming from the left.

At this point Pizzi and Saul were switching their positions, while the control at midfield was for André Santos, player that left a positive impression in his first match at the club. Juan Carlos also demonstrated good moves leading the offensive efforts of the team. Still, both sides were imprecise and at times the match turned to be boring.

The next scoring opportunity for Depor came at minute 32; it was a strong shot of Pizzi that was repealed by Trullo. The action started with a cross of Saul that found Bodipo inside the area, then the striker assisted Pizzi with a header.

And then Deportivo scored its first goal of the pre-season; Saul sent a cross from the right, again Bodipo controlled the ball inside the area and this time he assisted Jesús Vázquez, who netted from close range. Depor insisted and three minutes later Juan Carlos was close to score with a drilling shot that passed close to the far post of Trullo. The second goal arrived one minute before half-time; André Santos released a strong shot that Trullo deflected, the ball hit the far post and then Bodipo just had to push it from close range.

For the second half, Oltra changed nine of the eleven starters; the only starters that stayed on the pitch were Marc Martinez and Marcos Caridad. Right winger Victor Diaz debuted with the first team having a discrete participation. Another Fabril’s member that was debuting was centre back Uxio Marcos, he joined Caridad at the centre of the defense.

The first big chance for Depor in this half came after Álex Bergantiños assisted Bruno Gama, who entered the area and later was fouled by a rival; then Riki scored the third goal from the penalty spot. Bruno Gama was the best player in this part; incisive by the left wing; the rival never found the way to stop him.

The second half was pretty comfortable for Deportivo; Oltra’s players had the ball possession and were passing the ball at ease. Viveiro had its best chance in the game with a shot from midfield released byJuanjo Coello that almost surprised Marc Martinez, but the Catalan keeper cleared the danger (64’).

And then it came the fourth goal for Depor; Valerón made a great pass looking for Bruno Gama, and then the Portuguese winger released a cross that Riki sent into the back of the net. The Madrilenian was pretty active in the game and was close to score a hat-trick, but he missed a great chance at minute 73. The fifth goal came five minutes later after Riki assisted Bruno Gama, and the Portuguese winger found the net through a crossed shot.

Depor had a double chance to score the sixth goal before the final whistle, but Riki first (83’) and Álex Bergantiños later (86’) missed the target. And the final opportunity was for Riki, but he sent the ball wide after a new pass of Valerón (89’). The next friendly game will be on Friday at the A Magdalena stadium, the rival will be Tercera club RC Vilalbés (18h00 CET).
