Ze Castro is out of action for at least two weeks; it means that Oltra is only counting with Aythami for the centre of the defense. The club is still searching for two new central defenders at the market. In the meantime Fabrilís defenders are filling the gaps.

On Monday the club confirmed that the most recent scans made to Ze Castro have revealed that the wound caused by the quadriceps muscle injury suffered by the Portuguese player hasnít healed yet, which means a relapse and the need to search for an alternative treatment.

The alternative treatment to be used is the growth factor, same one used by Bruno Gama on the past season. The objective is to stimulate the cellular growth of the tissue through a protein. The treatment should accelerate the recovery process of the defender, but in any case he should be out for a couple of weeks.

Deportivo didnít inform about the period of time that the player will spend on the sidelines, but surely is at least two weeks, which means that the player will miss almost the entire pre-season. The ex-Atletico man already missed the first two weeks as he has been working apart within the last fifteen days.

It means further complications for Oltra; the Valencian coach saw how Diego Colotto went to RCD Espanyol, while David Rochela landed in a loan spell at Racing Santander. To make things worse Alberto Rodriguez failed the medicals, so the only choice for the centre of the defense is Aythami Artiles.

The team urgently needs to sign two centre backs, in case of delaying the operation these new arrivals will miss the adaptation period to the squad, a basic thing taking in mind that Ze Castro will probably miss the first weeks in liga. For now Oltra can only pick players from Fabril, in this sense Uxio Marcos and Marcos Caridad have been training with the team and even took part of the first two friendly matches, and Pablo Õnsua will join the group today. He just rested one week after winning the UEFA U-19 Euro with Spain.
