The banana operation continues at Deportivo and the club has completed the next moves: the arrival of a central defender, Roderick Miranda, and a striker, Nélson Oliveira. Those are two of the main concerns for Oltra.

After the big defeat against Sporting Gijón (1-4) there were a lot of questions regarding the possibilities of Deportivo in the new season at Primera, Oltra has closed almost all the positions, but still was lacking players at the centre of the defense and in attack.

But on Monday the Deportivismo woke up with the news that the club was about to close two of the biggest signings of its transfer window: Roderick Miranda (21) and Nélson Oliveira (20). Both players coming loaned from SL Benfica. As always the operation is possible thanks to Jorge Mendes, who is the agent of both players.

The double loan operation was firstly announced by Portuguese Sportpaper A Bola and later by Record. The club informed about the operation late on Monday. It wasn't revealed the terms of the loans, just that the duo will undergo the medicals on Tuesday's morning and that they will be presented in the afternoon at the Riazor (19h30 CET).

Roderick is a Portuguese centre back considered to be a future player of the national team; actually he already played for the youth teams of his country (U17, U18, U19 & U20). Last year he was loaned to Swiss club Servette FC and now Benfica wants to see him continuing his career in Spain.

Nélson Oliveira follows the same profile: young, talented and at the same time lacking opportunities at Benfica due to the competence at the first team. He was even picked for the UEFA Euro 2012 playing for twenty minutes in the 0-1 loss against Germany. He’s called to be the next central attacker of Portugal, though so far his best mark is to score four goals in 23 matches at Pacos de Ferreira.

Deportivo still searching for other two reinforcements in order to close the squad and precisely the wanted men are a new centre back and an attacker. Since the past week the name of Fernando Cavenaghi (28) has been linked with Depor.

The Argentine attacker is well known for his stage at River Plate and is currently training in Spain as he’s a free agent. Lendoiro tried to sign him in the past and the papers in the country believe that there are contacts in order to hire him. Another striker that remains on target is Diego Costa (23, Atletico Madrid); Lendoiro already admitted the interest, though it looks complicated due to the several clubs that are searching for the Brazilian attacker.

And there’s a third player that could arrive from Benfica: centre back Sidnei Rechel da Silva (22). The Brazilian is also at the door out at the Portuguese club, but Real Zaragoza is also trying to sign him and for now nothing has been decided.
