Oltra’s Deportivo plays today it’s only match on the pre-season disputed outside of Spain; the rival is Portuguese club FC Paços de Ferreira. The bad news is the injury problems striking the team.

The pre-season continues for Deportivo as today the team travels to Paços de Ferreira (Porto) in order to face the local team in the sixth friendly match for the Galician outfit before the debut in liga (Estádio da Mata Real, 21h00 CET). It represents the only pre-season clash that Deportivo is going to dispute outside of Spain.

Surely it’s a serious test for Oltra as his team still need time in order to gain match fitness. FC Paços de Ferreira ended 10th on the past Liga Sagres competition and has been making its pre-season stage facing low team rivals. This match represents the official presentation of Los Castores before the fans.

For Deportivo it means the sixth match on the pre-season and the beginning of the most demanding stage before debuting in liga. After this match Oltra’s team will play three more matches, two of them facing Primera clubs Sevilla CF and Atletico Madrid.

The problem for Oltra is the list of casualties due to injury reasons, something that affects the planning for the new season. Six players are out for the match: Diogo Salomão (groin), Ze Castro (quadriceps), Ayoze Diaz (hamstring), Jesús Vázquez (lumbago), Juan Dominguez (quadriceps) and Diogo Seoane (neck injury).

These six players trained apart on Thursday and were already ruled out of the game. New signings, Roderick Miranda and Nélson Oliveira, are training at the top, but it isn’t clear if Oltra will give them minutes for the clash with Paços de Ferreira, at least they will make the trip with the rest of the team.
