President Lendoiro confirmed that the Banana operation is over and that the club is only pending in signing one more striker; about exits he says that the club will only allow the departure of the players that don’t count for the coach.

The presentation of Javier Camuñas was used by president Augusto César Lendoiro in order to explain to the media the latest information regarding Deportivo, mainly the issues related to arrivals and exits from the first team.

He started explaining that the club will pay a tribute to the five Galicians that won a medal in the Summer Olympic Games, mainly to Sofia Toro, an A Coruña-born athlete that won a gold medal in sailing, “The idea is to invite all of them for the game against Osasuna and to see them enjoying, but with a protagonic role for Sofia. The idea is to invite all the Galicians that won a medal. I believe this is a record, because never before we had so many Galicians winning a medal.”

Later Depor’s boss confirmed that the Banana operation is over, also that only one more signing will be made and that this incorporation –a striker- will take a while, “No matter how early dawn earlier. We guess the arrival of a new striker is going to be our last incorporation. We´ll wait for the striker, but we’ll wait until we can. I always told you that the striker won’t be part of the banana operation. There are several alternatives for the striking zone, anyone could be mentioning a name, but what I can tell you is that we’re waiting to see the prices going down in order to increase our chances of making a signing.”

About exits from the first team, Lendoiro confirmed that the club will only allow the departure of the men that don’t count for Oltra, though there are no fresh news regarding the issue, “For the moment it’s the same, there are no changes. Neither with Seoane nor with somebody else; I mean that it won’t happen tomorrow, but it can happen later, because it takes a while to close these deals.”

“What I can tell you is that the players that will probably enjoy of lesser minutes can be the ones going out; we can end reaching an agreement in order to allow their exits, but always if they aren’t part of the coach’s plans.” He added regarding the issue.

He also believes that Deportivo has found a balance between players without experience and veterans, “It’s important to have players with experience, so we aren’t going to end with a U-23 squad. The players that have arrived are quality men, as example André Santos, who has been just picked to Portugal’s national team. Portugal was close to eliminate us in the Euro, so it speaks greatly of him. Also to remember that Pizzi was part of the pre-list of picked players.”

Finally, Lendoiro is optimistic regarding the response of the fans for the home meetings of Deportivo on the new season, “Today we have surpassed the mark of 24,500 socios, so we hope to start la liga with 25,000. We will try to have a full Riazor and that the socios could have the possibility of inviting their families, always at the best possible price.”
