THINKING OF GETAFE

30 Aug 2012
Oltra will at least have two casualties at the team; while Getafe has cleared the injury room, Los Azulones arrive to the Riazor reinforced after the win over Real Madrid. Four ex-Depor players are part of the Madrilenian team.

Coach José Luis Oltra will at least have two casualties at the team ahead of the match against Getafe CF (Saturday, 20h00 CET). Centre back Ze Castro is training with the group since the past week and he received the medical okay on Wednesday, but it isn’t clear yet if the Portuguese man will be picked for the clash at the Riazor.

Meanwhile, right-back Laureano Sanabria ‘Laure’ (shoulder) and left winger Diogo Salomão (groin) joined the group on this week, but they aren’t ready yet and won’t take part of the game as they lack match fitness.

Goalkeeper Daniel Aranzubia was replaced at half-time of the game against Valencia CF due to a gastric problem, but on Monday the Riojano was already fine and back on trainings, so the ex-Athletic man will continue to be the starting keeper.

Getafe CF is pretty motivated after the 2-1 win over Real Madrid, the team coached by Luis García Plaza added the first three points of the season and now arrives to the Riazor with four familiar faces at the team: winger Ángel Lafita, centre back Albert Lopo, plus centre midfielder <>Borja Fernandez and Juan Rodriguez.

Of this list only Lopo and Lafita have options to play the game at the Riazor. Juan Rodriguez wasn’t even picked for the game with Real Madrid, while Borja is just returning after suffering a knee injury during the pre-season. He started to train during the week, but is unlikely that he will be picked for the clash. Borja has been the only injury at the team at the beginning of the liga tournament.

Centre midfielder Pedro Sarabia was dragging a leg knock from the past week; he was picked for the clash against Real Madrid, but stayed on the bench, now he could be a starter. Meanwhile, winger Pedro Leon returns as he couldn’t play against Real Madrid for been his parent club and as Getafe didn’t want to pay the two million Euros to release him from this clause.

Finally, Getafe is moving in the market, mainly in the striking zone.  The Madrilenian club already had Dani Guiza and Miku at the team, but the first doesn’t count for Luis Garcia and is close to join Mallorca, while the second could be sold, so the club is targeting two new signings. The first one is Paco Alcácer, a young striker coming loaned from Valencia CF that joined the team on Tuesday. He will probably play against Depor, because there’s a clause in the loan deal that forces Getafe to use the player in a certain number of matches.

The second signing isn’t decided yet; the Madrilenians were targeting Espanyol’s Álvaro Vázquez, but in recent days the player has been linked with RCD Mallorca. They are also thinking of Atletico’s Diego Costa, a very complicate option as the Brazilian attacker is wanted by several clubs, including Deportivo.
