THINKING OF GRANADA

13 Sep 2012
Bruno Gama is doubtful due to a muscular injury, but he completed the last training and could be ready to play on Sunday. The other injury concern is Bodipo. Granada CF has several casualties for the clash against Deportivo.

All eyes are over Bruno Gama ahead of the match against Granada CF (Los Cármenes, 16h00 CET). The right winger sustained a grade I muscular strain on his right thigh during the past match against Getafe CF. He didn’t train on the past week neither on Tuesday’s training session and it was feared that he was going to miss Sunday’s match.

But on Wednesday the Portuguese player completed the full training session, which has increased the possibilities of been picked for the game. The coaching staff will see the evolution of the player in the coming days and will decide on Saturday if he’s picked for Sunday’s trip to Andalusia.

Striker Rodolfo Bodipo, meanwhile, picked an ankle injury during Wednesday’s training session and is doubtful for the game. But centre back Ze Castro, right-back Laure and left winger Diogo Salomão are all available for the clash and could be picked for the first time on the liga season. The trio played the friendly game of the past week against SD Dubra.

The three players on international duties will join the team in the coming hours; left winger Pizzi and striker Nélson Oliveira are already in A Coruña and will join the trainings today, meanwhile Abel Aguilar arrives on Thursday’s morning and should start to train on Friday.

At Granada, there are several novelties for coach Juan Antonio Anquela; first to all there were some movements during the break. Side defender David Cortés and centre back Noe Pamarot were fired as they didn’t pass the final cut with the closure of the transfer window, while French playmaker Yacine Brahimi has joined the squad after been loaned by Stade Rennais F.C. in the last day of the transfer window.

Granada is having five casualties for the game against Deportivo. Centre back Borja Gomez is suspended after been sent off in the match against Real Madrid. The other player suspended in centre midfielder Dani Benitez, who is dragging his suspension from last season. Three players are already ruled out due to injury reasons: captain Manolo Lucena, playmaker Fran Rico and centre midfielder Hassan Yebda; the three of them with knee injuries.  Midfielder Yacine Brahimi didn’t end Wednesday’s training due to a muscular problem and is doubtful for Sunday.

There were three players on international action: midfielder Gabriel Torje (Romania), playmaker Youssef El Arabi (Morocco) and Allan Nyom (Cameroon), this last two men were playing qualifiers for the African Cup. Torje scored two goals in two FIFA World Cup qualifiers; first against Estonia (2-0) and later against Andorra (4-0); he also provided an assist.  El Arabi couldn’t avoid the defeat of Morocco visiting Mozambique (2-0), same result was suffered by Nyom and Cameroon during the visit to Cape Verde.
