DEPORTIVO RETURNS TO WORK

14 Jul 2006
Yesterday the squad returned to work with a lot of novelties. Six players realised their first session with the squad while another eleven men were out for different reasons. It's the kickoff in Caparrs' new project, the Deportivo of the centenario.

Eleven players didn't participate in the first session of the season. Of this number seven have been discarded by the same Caparrs: Tristn, Muna, Pablo Amo, Acua, Scaloni, Momo and Rben Castro. Deportivo is accelerating the negotiations in order to find an exit for them and the first measure is to avoid any possible injury. For that reason they weren't called to train although that they could join the group in the next days if nothing new occurs with them.

But there has been a problem with Diego Tristn, he accepted his exclusion from the training, but he warned that he won't be waiting too long: "If there's no agreement before Saturday (July 22nd), the situation is very clear, I will return to train and then I will start fighting for a place in the squad. The president asked for patience and I will do it for the way he treat me on the last campaigns, but nobody could take me out of the training sessions. I want to go out of Depor, but I want to it with dignity." This was the speech made by the Sevillan player in a press conference.

The striker also said that he doesn't know anything about his future club: "This issue is a thing that the president manages. There are clubs that call you and show their interest, but I don't know anything about the negotiations between the clubs. It will be tough, because we are talking about a transfer and those things are difficult to fulfill. Personally, I see it difficulty, but the best thing for me is finding an exit from the team."

There's one player that's still enjoying a vacation period: Coloccini. He participated in the World Cup and his arrival to La Corua will occur next week. Finally, three players aren't ready to train for injury reasons: Andrade, Juanma and Pablo Alvarez. Andrade is following a special routine and he should return in two months, the same situations goes on with Juanma who went through surgery a couple of weeks ago. Pablo Alvarez is the most serious case since his fracture in one foot will keep him out until December.

The good news is that Taborda and Valern have improved their condition and they should be ready to start the season with normality. These two players were part of the long-term injury list during the past season.

The training session lasted an hour and a half. The main novelty was the presence of the new signings and the Fabril's youngsters. It was the first opportunity to see Riki, Bodipo, Cristian, Juan Rodriguez and Albert Lopo working with the group. The youngsters Fabricio Agosto, Marcos Caridad Pablo Lpez Rivadulla, David Rochela and Juan Domnguez also participated in the session. Ian Mackay was the surprise since the team has only one goalkeeper participating with the first squad. For that reason Caparrs called him in order to join the work of Fabricio.

ESTOYANOFF PASSED THE MEDICAL TESTS
Fabin Estoyanoff has went trough the medical exams and during the afternoon he made several physicals tests in Abegondo. Valencia and Deportivo agreed a one year loan spell with a 4 million buyout option. The Uruguayan player wasn't presented to the fans, because the contract hasn't been signed yet. It's expected that the deal will be ready on the next week. In this way Estoyanoff is the eighth signing for the new season. Caparrs is now waiting for his goalkeepers while the negotiation for Aouate is frozen.
