200 OFFICIAL GAMES FOR RIKI

08 Nov 2012
Riki has completed his official game number 200 at Deportivo; the Madrilenian attacker has remained scoreless within the last four matches and targets to become into the sixth best scorer of Depor at Primera División.

The liga match against RCD Mallorca meant the official game number 200 for Iván Sánchez Rico Soto ‘Riki’ playing for Deportivo. He landed in A Coruña in 2006 and has become into an important reference in attack, so much that he has been the starting striker in the ten matchdays played so far.

The Madrilenian attacker would have reached the mark before, but the endless muscle injuries sustained in past seasons have reduced his participation at the first team, as example the season 2010/11, time when he could only play in 19 of the 38 liga matches, this after suffering several muscle problems.

Currently, Riki, who is one of the three captains at Oltra’s squad, is the third player with more official games at the first team of Deportivo, just behind Juan Carlos Valerón (392) and Manuel Pablo (415).

The ex-Getafe striker had a positive start of season netting three goals within the first six liga games, but he has remained scoreless within the last four meetings. Anyhow, he already scored 40 goals at Primera with Depor, only needing three more to became the sixth best scorer of the club in this league. Currently the best scorers at Primera for Deportivo are: Bebeto (86), Makaay (79), Tristán (78), Pahiño (46), Fran (44), Franco (42) & Riki (40)
