THE GREAT CHANCE OF ÍNSUA

23 Nov 2012
19-year-old Pablo Ínsua is close to debut with the first team; he could do it this Sunday in liga facing Athletic Bilbao or on Thursday in Copa playing against RCD Mallorca. For him it’s already great just for the fact of been training with the first team

Oltra is not the kind of coach that gives a lot of chances to the players coming out from the youth teams; last season he only allowed the debut of playmaker Juan Carlos, and on this season he has 26 players and an overbooking in some positions, so it wasn’t expected to witness any debut of a Fabril’s member. But the latest injuries of Marchena and Ze Castro left him with only two centre-backs at the first team, which has open the door to Pablo Ínsua Blanco, one of the most promising defenders at Deportivo B.

There’s a busy calendar ahead as Deportivo is going to play three games in eight days; first on Sunday visiting Athletic Bilbao playing for la liga, then on Thursday in Copa Del Rey visiting RCD Mallorca and then hosting Real Betis at the Riazor playing again for la liga.

This situation increases the chances of Ínsua as Oltra will surely make rotations during next week; The Arzua-born defender has been calling the attention in recent years with Spain U-17 squad, later debuting at Fabril. The player said on Wednesday that he’s already satisfied just for been training with the first team, “To join the trainings with the first team, been living in this world surrounded by professionals, it means great news for me.”

“Once you are training with the first team during the pre-season you end wanting more, but you must keep working. The change between Primera and Tercera is very big, but you can gain pace training with these professionals, which is what I need now. I am the one that must try to earn the spot in the training practice, demonstrating that I can be above the rest.” He added.

Finally, Ínsua confessed that it will be a dream to debut on this Sunday, “Just for the fact of been part of the list it would be hopeful, but I don’t know what could happen. The important thing is to keep improving, so I could have an opportunity in the future. It will be a dream to be part of the team, though to face Llorente isn’t the best news for a debutant at Primera, because he’s one of the best strikers in Spain.”

Ínsua debuted with Deportivo B on August 29, 2010 playing against CD Lugo; since that day he has played 74 games with Fabril scoring 4 goals and even providing one assist. It’s an impressive mark taking in mind he’s only 19.
