CHANGES, BUT KEEPING THE 4-2-3-1

16 Dec 2012
Oltra is ready to make changes in his starting eleven for the crucial meeting against Real Valladolid, but he won’t touch the 4-2-3-1 draw. Ze Castro and Marchena are back and could be starters, Lux could start at the goal.

Despite the setbacks throughout the league tournament, José Luis Oltra is a coach that barely makes changes in the lineups. So far the game in which he made more modifications was for the visit to Athletic Bilbao (1-1); on that opportunity five changes were made as Aranzubia was suspended, while Pizzi, Marchena and Ze Castro were injured. The other modification was Abel Aguilar, who was returning after been out for injury reasons.

Now, with the team at the bottom of the standings, the Valencian man is ready to make three or four changes as he recovers the major part of the injured man. What won’t change is the figure: 4-2-3-1. It’s the scheme that Oltra has always used since landing at Depor. A football proposal that won’t change, not even with Depor at their lowest moment.

The main changes are occurring at defense, for the first time in three weeks Depor’s trainer is having his four centre-backs available, the return of Ze Castro and Carlos Marchena, plus Aythami Artiles, who was suspended for the visit to Atlético Madrid, will probably left Roderick and Insua on the sidelines, precisely the couple that performed at the Calderón stadium.

It isn’t clear if Marchena and Ze Castro will regain the spots, because Oltra could reserve one of them as both are coming out from an injury, which means that Aythami has a chance to be a starter on Monday. In any case Oltra will now rely on experience for this crucial match, just when he was forced to trust in the youthness for the past match against Atlético.

There's the rumour that German Lux is going to take the place of Daniel Aranzubia, something that Oltra didn't want to comment on Saturday. The other positions at defense, meanwhile, won't change; Laureano Sanabria ´Laure’ covers the right-back position and Ayoze Diaz plays at the left.

Abel Aguilar and Álex Bergantiños should remain at midfield. The third and final change in the lineup is the return of Pizzi; the Portuguese should play at the left wing. The rest of the attacking line will be the same. Bruno Gama on the left, Juan Carlos Valerón on the playmaking tasks and Riki at the centre of the attack.

Madrilenian Riki scored a brace against Real Betis and already added six goals to his tally during the present season, His record at Primera wearing the Blanquiazul shirt is eight goals on the season 2009/10. Last season he netted twelve goals at Segunda and his current target is to have a double digit mark.
