20 Jul 2006
Yesterday the fixtures for the upcoming season were revealed. Deportivo starts at home against Zaragoza. In other news, Deportivo will begin its quest for the Copa del Rey like all other Primera teams in the third round, i.e. the round of the last 32. And, surprisingly, now the whole squad will be in Isla Canela.

FIXTURES FOR DEPORTIVO
Yesterday the fixtures for the upcoming season were revealed. The new season will start with a visit of Zaragoza to Riazor. The derby with Celta will be at Riazor on November 19th, the match against FC Barcelona two weeks earlier. 2007 will start with a cracker: the visit of Real Madrid to the Riazor.

TRISTAN & CO. ALSO TRAVEL TO ISLA CANELA
Surprisingly, the players that originally were left in La Coruna are travelling to the pre-season camp at Isla Canela as well. Thus, it will be very crowded there with almost 30 players, something Caparrs wanted to avoid at all costs. However, the club has decided that those players (Tristn, Rubn, Muna, Momo) will have to present themselves today (Friday) at 11 o'clock at the pre-season camp. The other two players that don't enter in the plans of Caparrs, 'Toro' Acuna and Lionel Scaloni, won't be on board since they are still on vacations after their World Cup participation, just like Fabricio Collocini.

It remains to be seen how Caparrs will react to this scenario. The club hasn't given any reasons for this change of mind, but all points towards the Players' Association (AFE) pressuring Deportivo to enable all contracted players to train with the squad as part of the club's contractual responsibility towards the players.
