NEW CONTRACTS FOR ZE CASTRO & BRUNO GAMA

12 Jan 2013
The best news from the uncertain press conference of Lendoiro in which he announced the administration of Deportivo was the renewals of Portuguese players Ze Castro and Bruno Gama, two normal starters for Oltra and Domingos.

On Thursday, Lendoiro released several novelties regarding the composition of the team for future seasons; despite the economic problems hitting the club the president seems more concerned in the continuity of the key players at the first team and even at Fabril. The first good news announced is that Ze Castro has extended his link with Deportivo until 2017.

The Portuguese centre-back joined Depor in 2009 coming loaned from Atletico Madrid, later the club paid two million Euros for him despite Lotina barely counted with his services for the seasons 2009/10 & 2010/11. He was close to be sold when the club suffered the relegation, but stayed and turned into a fixed starter with Oltra.  Ze Castro, who will be 30 on Sunday, is one of the starting centre-backs at Deportivo and fhe eels content in the city, so he decided to stay and signed a four-year extension.

On Friday he addressed the media and told that, “I´m a player of Deportivo for this season and I´m also signing for four additional years. There are no clauses in case of relegation. At this point in my career I´m feeling pretty comfortable in the city. Depor is a club that I like. I hope to give my best and help this club.”

Another of the renewals announced by Lendoiro was a pleasant surprise: Bruno Gama. The right winger arrived for the past season and turned into one of the best players at the team; he was the best signing of the season according to the peña members of RCDLC.com. He had a grey performance at the beginning of the present campaign, but has been growing and continues to be a fixed starter with new coach Domingos Paciência.

The contract of Bruno Gama was ending in 2015, and with this new deal it has been increased for one additional season. The best part is that Depor only owe the 20% of his rights, but with the new contract the 100% of the players’ rights are for the club, a fact that converts this 25-year-old player into one of the main assets of Deportivo.

RIKI AND THE PLAYERS ENDING CONTRACT
It was previously announced that Manuel Pablo also signed a renewal, but it was known until Thursday the duration of the new contract: one more year as a player and four seasons as club’s official. Besides, it has been confirmed that there won’t be a negotiation with Daniel Aranzubia, simply because he has a clause that allows an automatic renewal in case of playing 20 official games on this season, and he only needs five more matches to reach the mark, so he will probably stay one more year.

Now there are only six players ending contract in June of the present year. And, of this list, Riki is the new priority of the club. Lendoiro already presented a renewal offer to the Madrilenian striker, but he delayed the decision until the club was in administration. Now it’s expected that both sides will restart the negotiations. Actually, in the statement announcing the renewal of Ze Castro and Bruno Gama the club expressed the hope of reaching an agreement soon with Riki.

The other five players that are ending contract in June are: keeper German Lux, right-back Diego Seoane, right winger Saúl Fernandez, centre midfielder Jesús Vázquez and striker Rodolfo Bodipo.

Lux is the only one having the chance to sign a renewal and for now his situation remains uncertain, Seoane received a renewal offer at the beginning of the season and he didn’t accept it, so the club will allow his departure. The other three men will surely leave during the summer; actually Depor is currently negotiating the loan spell of Jesús Vázquez to Hércules CF.

Off course, the described scenario doesn’t include the cases of the eight players that are currently playing loaned at Deportivo: right-back Sílvio, left-back Evaldo Fabiano, centre midfielders Abel Aguilar and André Santos, left wingers Pizzi, Diogo Salomão and Javier Camuñas, plus striker Nélson Oliveira.
