TIAGO PINTO LEAVES DEPOR

12 Jan 2013
The club confirmed late on Friday the exit of left-back Tiago Pinto. The Portuguese player never counted for both Oltra and Domingos PaciÍncia. He broke his link with Depor and will now play loaned at Racing Santander.

Tiago Miguel BaŪa Pinto is no longer a player of Deportivo. The club and the left-back broke their link late on Friday after president Lendoiro had a meeting with the father of the defender, former player Joao Pinto.

Six months ago, he was loaned by Portuguese outfit Rio Ave and the contract was lasting until June, but the true is that the player never counted for Josť Luis Oltra and neither for new boss Domingos PaciÍncia. Actually, he only played three official matches wearing the shirt of Depor. Firstly, in the first-leg in Copa against RCD Mallorca, match in which he was a starter (Nov 1, 2012).

Then, in the disastrous 3-5 defeat visiting Real Zaragoza playing for la liga (Nov 10), and finally he entered as a substitute for the final minutes of the second-leg in Copa against the Majorcans (Nov 29). After the arrival of PaciÍncia the Portuguese coach preferred other options, like Evaldo, who was his player at SC Braga.

It cannot be said that he didnít fulfill the expectations of the fans as he barely played, but surely it wasnít what both coaching staffs were expecting to meet. Within the last days it was highly rumored that he was leaving, actually Lendoiro admitted the possibility during Thursdayís press conference, this after he said that the player was close to go to Racing Santander.

And just one day later the news was confirmed, in this way Deportivo and Rio Ave are breaking the loan agreement and immediately he was loaned again to Segunda club Racing Santander, place where he will join Deporís centre-back David Rochela. To clarify that his exit isn't leaving any available spot at the first team, this since Tiago was inscribed as a B team member.
