THREE CHANGES AND ONE DOUBT FOR SUNDAY

19 Jan 2013
Domingos Paciência is having the doubt of Riki for Sunday’s game against Osasuna: The striker is having a muscle problem. Then there are three changes caused by the exits of Marchena, Evaldo and Jesús Vázquez.

Abel Aguilar will miss the clash at Pamplona due to injury reasons, in the past visit to Real Sociedad the Colombian was suspended and the chosen one to replace him at the lineup was Jesús Vázquez, now Domingos Paciência is opting in allowing the debut as a starter of Paulo Assunção, who admitted that wasn’t totally fit to play during the past weekend. But the coach said on Friday that the Brazilian will probably be part of the starting team. This is the first change at the lineup compared to the team that drew at Anoeta.

Second change: the competition committee rejected the appeal of the club as the Brazilian was sent off at Anoeta. So Sílvio Azevedo is going to perform at the left side of the defense, this no matter that Ayoze Diaz has been declared fit to play after overcoming an adductor injury and after he was the starting choice in the victory over Malaga CF. It was another thing confirmed by Domingos during Friday’s press conference.

And the third modification is the exit of Carlos Marchena; the defender joined the trainings on Friday, but just completed part of the session and didn’t feel fine as he’s dragging a muscle problem. Now Aythami Artiles is claiming the spot alongside Ze Castro at the centre of the defense, something that will probably pull Pablo Insua from Fabril in order to be the alternative on the bench.

Riki is also dealing with muscle problems and Domingos is waiting for the last training in order to know if he’s available to play. This is the big doubt for the game. Therefore the lineup for Sunday will end up having three modifications compared to the team that grabbed a point against Real Sociedad, and one additional change could be made depending on the status of Riki.

Aranzubia should stay at the goal and Manuel Pablo will remain performing at the right-back position, Sílvio performs on the left, and the central positions will be territory Ze Castro and Aythami.

At midfield, André Santos is now a fixed starter alongside Álex Bergantiños and now both are joined by Assunção. Pizzi and Bruno Gama also have a fixed spot at the starting eleven, and the only doubt is if Riki will be the central attacker.
