Pizzi or Camuñas? Riki or Oliveira? Those are the doubts of Domingos Paciência for Saturday’s meeting against Valencia CF. The fitness of the normal starters is what will determine the final composition of the starting eleven.

Despite the recent setback in Pamplona coach Domingos Paciência isn’t thinking in changing the system that will face the upcoming match against Valencia CF, but he has two doubts that could force him to change the players in the draw.

These doubts are related to the physical state of striker Riki and left winger Pizzi. The Madrilenian sustained an ankle sprain in the match played at the Reyno de Navarra and should have stayed out for at least two weeks, but he joined the trainings on Thursday and was even tested as the possible starter at the centre of the attack.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese winger skipped the last two training sessions due to a back injury (muscle contracture), but Domingos said during his press conference that he expects that the player will be ready to play, though he will make a final decision on Friday.

The rest of the team should be the same one of the past two weeks, with Dani Aranzubia covering the goal, Manuel Pablo at the right and Sílvio on the left. Evaldo is injured and Domingos has shown more confidence in the Portuguese than in Ayoze, who received the medical okay during the week.

With Carlos Marchena out injured, Fabril’s Pablo Insua will continue to be part of the team, though the central positions at defense will be for Canarian Aythami Artiles and Portuguese Ze Castro.

At midfield territory, Portuguese André Santos is expected to be a starter playing alongside Álex Bergantiños and Brazilian Paulo Assunção. Colombian Abel Aguilar started t to rain on Thursday, but it’s too soon for him and won’t be available. Bruno Gama has a secure spot at the right wing.

The two doubts are conditioning the rest of the team, normally Pizzi will be performing at the left wing and Riki at the centre of the attack. On Thursday, Domingos tested the alternatives in case that both men aren’t recovered. The first backup plan is to play with Javier Camuñas on the left wing and with Nélson Oliveira at the centre of the attack.

But Domingos also tested another plan: to switch the draw into the classical 4-2-3-1. This alternative means to relocate Camuñas at the playmaker’s role, then allow the entry of Diogo Salomão on the left wing and keep Oliveira in attack.
