Diego Seoane has renewed his contract with Deportivo for three additional years and will play loaned at Segunda club Cordoba CF until June. The side defender will try to regain the lost time at Depor playing at Liga Adelante.

It seemed improbable that Diego Seoane was going to renew his contract after the confrontation between his agent, Teo Lázaro, and president Lendoiro. His previous contract was ending in June and everyone thought that he was leaving for free after he refused to answer the latest proposition coming from the club.

But the player changed his mind, so much that on Monday he signed a three-year extension –lasting until 2016- at the same the club decided to loan him out to Segunda club Córdoba CF. The Andalusians are currently battling trying to get a ticket to Primera; they are lying at the sixth position and are searching for a right-back defender. Seoane could even debut on Sunday in the home game against CD Lugo as they have the casualty of Cristian due to suspension.

In this way Deportivo secure the continuity of the player and also give him the opportunity to have minutes until the end of the season. In previous weeks the club also extended the contracts of Manuel Pablo and Laure, which means that there are three right-back defenders signed for the coming years. Seoane can also play at the left as he did before at Deportivo B and also at the first squad.

Seoane has been at Deportivo since 2004 and it has been hard for him to reach the first team. He had a promising career at Fabril completing 71 official presentations for the squad. He debuted with the first team on January 27th 2010 playing Copa Del Rey against Sevilla CF. His debut at Primera División occurred on May 20th, 2010 as Depor was hosting Real Valladolid at the Riazor. In both opportunities the youngster performed at the left side of the defense.

The problem is that Lotina never trusted in him and neither Oltra did it, so after been promoted in a permanent basis he has only made nine appearances within the last 18 months (six at Segunda and three in Copa Del Rey).  With new coach Domingos the player stayed out of the list of picked players within the last four matches.
