Fernando Vázquez released the list of players for the game against Sevilla; he also tested a 4-4-2 lineup in Wednesday’s training session, a draw that included Riki and Nélson Oliveira at the starting squad.

On Wednesday, new boss Fernando Vázquez released the list of picked players for Friday’s meeting against Sevilla CF. That was the first novelty in this new era, because usually the coaches release the list one day before the official games and not two days previous to the matches. The reason for this is that the team travels early in the morning to Andalusia and the next training session will take place at the sporting city of Sevilla during the afternoon (17h30 CET).

The only players that will miss the clash due to injury reasons are right-back Laure and centre-back Aythami Artiles, while centre midfielders André Santos and Jesús Vázquez are out for tactical reasons. The other two players that will miss the clash are right-back Manuel Pablo and centre-back Carlos Marchena, both are suspended. In the case of the Canarian, he was banned for two games for calling “donkey” referee Ayza Gamez.

Perhaps the biggest novelty in the list is the entry of let-back Ayoze Diaz and the exit of centre midfielder André Santos. The Canarian defender was out of Domingos’ plans, while the Portuguese was a fixed starter, at least in the first games with Paciência.

Also, Vázquez seems ready to do what Oltra and Domingos never did: to put Riki and Nélson Oliveira at the starting lineup. The two previous coaches of Deportivo always played with a scheme based in one striker, and the new boss seems determined to change that.

In the last training sessions he tested a 4-4-2 figure, with Riki and Nélson Oliveira in attack, the other novelty was that Juan Dominguez was joining Abel Aguilar at midfield, while Pizzi and Bruno Gama were staying at the wings.

At defense, Aranzubia was staying at the goal, Silvio Azevedo returns from suspension and covers the right side, Evaldo stays on the left, while Kaká reenters into the squad in order to join Ze Castro at the central positions. Still, it isn’t certain if this is the real plan of Vázquez, after all he has only spent two days at the club. He could give more clues on tomorrow’s session in Seville.

List of picked players for the game Vs. Sevilla CF:
Keepers: Aranzubia & Lux
Defenders: Sílvio, Kaká, Ze Castro, Ayoze &  Evaldo
Midfielders: Álex Bergantiños, Abel Aguilar, Juan Dominguez, Assunção, Bruno Gama, Pizzi, Salomão, Camuñas & Valerón
Strikers: Riki & Nélson Oliveira
