Laure and Manuel Pablo are the only casualties for Saturday’s match at the Riazor; the first sessions with Fernando Vázquez have been long and exhausting. Real Madrid, meanwhile, have three casualties and a complicate agenda.

Deportivo are only having two casualties for the home match against Real Madrid (Saturday, 20h00 CET). The centre of the defense has been reinforced as Carlos Marchena is returning from suspension and as Aythami Artiles is back after surpassing a thigh injury that left him at bay for a full month. He’s training without any problem since Monday and is available for the coach.

So, the only players out for the match are right-back Manuel Pablo, who´s serving his last match of suspension after been sent off against Granada CF, and right-back Laureano Sanabria ´Laure´ (groin). The Madrilenian won’t need surgery and the doctors expect that he could join the trainings on next week, so he could be available for the next match against Rayo Vallecano, though he’s missing match fitness after been out for the past two months.

This is the first full week with Fernando Vázquez is charge of the team, on Monday and Tuesday there were two training sessions per day, the common thing is that the sessions were long and intensive [on Monday the team trained for four hours] there was a lot of physical and tactical work. It was so hard that by Wednesday Ze Castro was already dragging muscle problems, though he should be available for Saturday.

Vázquez is trying to build up a solidary squad, a team full of aids in both the defense and attack, so the training sessions have been trying to emphasize the movements of the players when they don’t have the ball possession. The last trainings on the week should be less intense, something proved by the fact that, between Wednesday and Friday, there will only be one training per day.

Real Madrid arrive to this meeting more concern of the upcoming clashes against FC Barcelona (liga & Copa) and Manchester United FC (Champions League), so it is probable that coach José Mourinho could end up making rotations for the clash at the Riazor.

There are three casualties for the game in A Coruña; centre-back Sergio Ramos is suspended after been sent off in the past match against Rayo Vallecano, while centre midfielder Xabi Alonso (groin) and keeper Iker Casillas (finger fracture) are out injured. At the same time centre-back Álvaro Arbeloa, playmaker Luka Modrić and striker Gonzalo Higuaín are returning from suspension.

Some reporters in Madrid are speculating with the possibility of seeing Cristiano Ronaldo out of the list for this game, but the point is that the Portuguese star doesn’t like to miss a game; actually he has a been a starter in all the matches of the league season with the exception of the visit to CA Osasuna, match in which he was suspended.
