Valern's injury is more serious than everybody was expecting. The player flew to Madrid and after the medical scan, the diagnosis was known: an injury in the peripheral zone of his left knee's meniscus plus a rupture in the ligament. The Canarian went through surgery and it's expected that he will be out of action for the next four months.

The first crisis of the new season has emerged. Caparrs has lost one of his main assets: Juan Carls Valern. The player suffered a new injury in his left knee during the friendly game against Benfica, and he will spend the next four months outside of the pitch. The surgery was directed by doctor Guilln who commented about Valern's situation: "His meniscus is in good condition. His knees are very healthy and we will see if he's ready to play in four months."

It isn't known at this point if coach Joaqun Caparrs will try to replace Valern with a new signing. On the past season he asked for Mark Gonzlez when the Canarian suffered his first serious injury. But the positive evolution of Iago during the last months could hold any new intent on the market.

In the meantime, Deportivo will play today the final game in the International tournament of Guadiana (22h15). The Galicians need a victory against Sporting Lisbon in order to achieve the mission. The pre-season in Isla Canela will end this Monday with a new friendly match against the local team of Ayamonte.

Deportivo is facing complications in o order to sign ngel Guirado (23). Crdoba is asking for 60,000 plus one of Caparrs' discarded players, but Lendoiro is only offering 40,000. The Andalucian winger is a request made by the Sevillan coach. This case could be solved during the next hours. It's also expected that Guirado will be loaned out to Vecindario since Caparrs wants to see him progressing in Segunda.
